Report About China BBT

CHINA, Dec 7 (VNN) — TO ALL GBC MEMBERS OF SRILA PRABHUPADA's ISKCON and BBT (unedited version)

Dear respectful Maharajas and all assembled Vaishnava devotees

Please accept our humble obeisance, All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Sri Gaura-Nitai!

The following story is a summary report about China BBT and how Tamal Krishna Goswami's mistreated, cheatedand cracked down his Chinese "Disciples", other story such as Tamal Krishna Goswami Teaching and preachingactivities, How Tamal Krishna Goswami witch-hunting his disciples in China will be separately offered.

It was about in 1992, Tamal Krishna Goswami determined to let his beloved disciple Ekacakra Das and UmapatiSwami join into Hongkong BBT (Chinese BBT), TKG told his Chinese BBT members that Ekacakra (from French )and Umapati ( from UAS) just finished their Mandarin Study in Taiwan. At the beginning, Ekacakra and UmapatiSwami were humble but unfortunately they misunderstood their master TKG's purpose for their arrangement. As timepassed away, they really realized the ambition of TKG. Ekacakra and Umpapati in no time promote their SanskritPhilosophy and Hippie philosophy to their Chinese fallen souls, and try to establish their own authority on translationof Bhagavad gita as it is from English into Chinese. While they are executing their" conspiracy ", they found sometroubles come from TKG's god-brother Yasomatisuta Das, because Yaso is the first Chinese disciple of SrilaPrabhupada and SP had authorized Yaso Prabhu to translate HDG's books into Chinese. If Yaso is still stayed in HK BBT, some day in future Yaso would expose what TKG and His bloc have done in the International. From then on,Ekacakra and Umapati become mad to fight against Yaso Prabhu and tried to find stone from the egg on Yaso'sTranslation of BG and SB. During in 1997, Ekacakra and Umapati Swami have finally revealed their " true Colors " toYasomatisuta Das, beginning from a common debate to the last personal attacks against Yaso Prabhu. Under allpressure from TKG and his bloc, Yaso prabhu has to accept the authority of GBC, He withdrawn from HK BBTadministration in November.1997, One year later, Yaso Prabhu was kicked out by TKG from Hongkong Temple (poor Yaso prabhu has become another victim of TKG witch-hunting).

From 1993 to 1997, other Chinese devotees who engaged in Translation of HDGSP Books into Chinese have one byone kicked out by Ekacakra and Umapati, for those Chinese devotees did not accept Ekacakra and Umapati Swami's"supreme authority" in this field. Most of those devotees engaged in Translation are Post-graduate or graduated from Foreign Language College, They think Ekacakra and Umapati Swami' s Chinese translation (Language) is notacceptable. Those devotees unfortunately wrote letters (reports) to TKG to express their complains, but they allbecome the victims of TKG witch-hunting, one by one was kicked out by TKG from Chinese BBT. After kicking out thatdevotee, Ekacakra and Umapati Swami would preach the "fact of that devotee " to other innocent disciples that "someone is a great offender of Vaishnava and guru, he has fallen down into maya, so on. That will remind of us thestory of H.H Kavichandra in Japan, while he deal with his Japanese translator, his philosophy was actually used byhis friends in China (please VNN Story 1797 and VNN2573). Ekacakra and Umapati Swami think that no one ofChinese devotees can be qualified to translate HDG SP's books into Chinese, and Yaso's Translation is a kind of"Mayavadi ", only their translation is good. Now the BG was printed in Taiwan and Distributed in China (includingHongkong SAR, Taiwan region), the fact is that Ekacakra and Umapati have re-written Chinese Version Bhagavad gitaAS IT IS (detailed reports will be offer in another paper if necessary). It was above in October 1997, when Chinesedevotees knew that the new Chinese version of Bhagavad Gita (CBG 97 version) translated by Ekacakra and Umapatiis complete different from what we have learnt. We wrote letters to Yaso and Ekacakra to require them to explain whatis that problem, but until now we did not get any reasonable reply on those "problems" as Ekacakra and UmapatiSwami alleged in Hongkong. After carefully reading and comparing different version of Chinese BG ( Ekacakra andUmapati Swami in China has made four Chinese version of BG) with original English version BG of Srila Rpabhupada, WE decided to write a letter to Hongkong BBT, Yaso prabhu, TKG, Ekacakra , Giridhari Swami,Ekacakra and Umapati Swami to express opinions on this matter: 90 percent of Chinese Devotees will definitely notaccept Ekacakra and Umapati version of BG. We have made Such decision and choice not because of our strongfeelings for Yaso Prabhu as Ekacakra and Umapati alleged, or some key terms translation have " problem ", but mostbecause the New Chinese version of BG is complete deviated in philosophy from that of Srila Prabhupada, (according to Umapati Swami saying, they have set up their own new criterion to RE-WRITE this Book).

Under this situation, Hongkong BBT meeting was held in Shenzhen (near Hongkong) in November 1997, beforeUmapati Swami leaving his headquarter Beijing, he has advised with his disciples and others devotees on thismatter (No one will like to accept Ekacakra's books), he made promise to his disciples that he will present theiropinions to this meeting. When Umapati Swami came back from Shenzhen, he did not mentioned anything about theresult this meeting, He just told his disciples not to fight against Ekacakra, otherwise you will become a Bhakta(Bhaktine) from your Maharaja position (or Dasa and Dasi). Considering his position and Ekacakra's situaiton, Umapati Swami no longer considers himself an official member of the BBT. Umapati Swami begins to serve asfighter of Networks. Ekacakra and his wife Jahnava dd found the situation is not favorable to them, they started adiplomatic trip in order to convince Chinese Devotees to accept his book of BG and promote his philosophy. After finishing their travel in Guangzhou, Ekacakra still can not fulfil his ambition, He returned to Hongkong get the helpfrom TKG. At that time, We challenge Ekacakra to tell us: what is his realization? Where He has received the authorityof SP? Srila Prabhupada had mentioned to us the general principle of translation Vaishnava Sastra:

" Srila Prabhupada went on to describe the special qualifications for translating Sanskrit Vaishanva literature. It wouldtake a realized soul, he said " otherwise, simple imitating, A-B-C-D, it will not help. My purports are liked by peoplebecause it is presented as practical experience. It can't be done unless one is REALIZED" (Srila PrabhupadaLilamrtra p349 by Satsvarupa Das Goswami),

but where Ekacakra and Umapati Swami have followed those principles? --

" Bhagavad-gita is also know as Gitopanish. It is the essence of Vedic knowledge and one of most importantUpanisads in Vedic literature. Of course there are many commentaries in English on the Bhagavad-gita, and one mayquestion the necessity for another oneeW. Of course in American there are so many editions of Bhagavad-gita available in English, but as far as I have seen, not only in American but also in India, none of them can be strictly said to beauthoritative because in almost every one of them the commentator has expressed his own opinions without touchingthe spirit of Bhagavad-gita as it is." (Introduction of BG P3), "W To interpret Bhagavad-gita without anyreference to the will of Krishna is the great offense."

Now in China there are four editions of Bhagavad-gita in Chinese by Ekacakra and Umapati Swami, but according toour Chinese understanding, one version is worse than another, the last version which has been re-written byEkacakra and his wife Jahnava is most deviated, even the basic thing Ekacakra has made it wrong, not to speak ofthe key terms!!

For example only in the preface part of SP Bhagavad-gita as it is, Ekacakra' s edition and translation has 19 pointerrors in meaning, In the introduction parts no only exists meaning errors but also has language mistakes.

For example in the two Chapter of BG, text seven, Ekacakra's Chinese is most ludicrous, He translated " APPROACH(jie jin) a spiritual master" into "SURRENDER (gui yi ) to a spiritual master"; " Miserly weakness" into "weakness likemiser ". In text 8, He translated " this grief which is drying up my senses" into " this grief which wilted my senses"; Inhis whole book, He translated "consciousness" into "yi shi " but not "zhi jue", that is fatal error! For in Chinese "yi shi "means "material world reflect on the person's brain", that is direct against the teaching of Bhagavad-gita

" The supreme conscious isvara is similar to the living entity in this way: both the consciousness of the Lord and thatof the living entity are transcendental. It IS NOT THAT CONSCIOUSNESS IS GERERATED BY THEASSOCIATION OF MATER. THAT IS A MISTAKEN IDEA. THE THEORY THAT CONSCIOUSNESSDEVELOPS UNDER CERTAIN CICUMSTANCES OF MATERIAL COMBINATION IS NOT ACCEPTED INTHE BHAGAVAD-GITA." (Bhagavad-gita as it is, introduction p11).

After reading Ekacakra's Edition of Bhagavad-gita, we really don't know WHO Krishna is, and what the teaching of BGis!!! Even the basic logic of Chinese language Ekacakra and Umapati Swami has gone to the wrong way.

In the following days, everything became most funny and ludicrous. TKG realized that his Chinese "disciples" havemade such challenge to his Representative, It means indirect challenge to Himself. First TKG sent his plenipotentiaryCadrasekhara Das (former disciple of Bhavananda from Australia) to preach us the following philosophy---

"Ekacakra is authorized by HIS guru TKG to translate Srila Prabhupada's Books into Chinese, He is qualified to dosuch job, Ekacakra is the "supreme authority" on this matter; Umapati Swami is authority of Sanskrit, Sanskrit hasspiritual potency (philosophy of Umapati swami, he is responsible for Sanskrit part translation, all Sanskrit wastranslated by Mandarin pronunciation but not need any translating their meaning, such as " Karma" his translation intoChinese is "ka er ma", Bhakti as "Ba ke ti" but not means devotion. " Lord Buddha" he translated into Chinese " Bu HaDa " but not in Chinese "Fu Zhu")." When we asked where Srila Prabhupada's books have such saying or where SPsaid like that, Cadrasekhara Das told you that SP had said many time and many texts in SP's books have mentioned. When we asked him to offer some evidences, he told us to search for in SP books. But until now we still can not findsuch teachings as " Sanskrit has spiritual potency " in Srila Prabhupada's books. When Cadrasekhara Das found thathis inability to answer our questions, he would say " anyway, I do not care about your Chinese, my English is such".

After TKG's first plenipotentiary came back Hongkong with failure, He then sent his another representative B.C.Narasimha Swami (TKG gave him Swami Title) to come China. Except for preaching the same "teachings" asCadrasekhara claimed, Narasimha Swami sold another kind of philosophy to us:

"Srila Prabhupada's English is not so good, there are so many mistakes in Srial Prabhupada's books, we have torectify those errors, Ekacakra and Umapati Swami has both qualification and authority to change it. Your ChineseDevotees have to accept the Authority of Ekacakra and Umapati Swami because they are representative of GBC andBBT. If you do not want to accept their Authority, it will be better to leave our iskcon and temple, Srila Prabhupada'said that those who stayed in iskcon and temple are craze and abnormal person, those who left iskcon and temple arenormal person"

This time, Narasimha Swami felt very upset with what has been happing in China, He never think his philosophy willlead to such great challenge from his Chinese associates and his would-be disciples. It is the China saying" themore you speak, the more mistake ". While Narasimha Swami wanted to defend Ekacakra and Umapati Swami's position, He unfortunately became another poor victim of TKG playing this " political game ". To defend Ekacakra andUmapati Swami's position means to protect his guru TKG's "Absolutely Authority" in China, then He has to reject SrilaPrabhupada's in China, He has to find some faults with Srila Prabhupada's books and his conversations; Or toprotect Srila Prabhupada's position he has to reject Ekacakra and Umapati Swami's teachings. Considering hishideous situation, Narasimha Swami left China.

" The word muni means one who can agitate his mind in various ways for mental speculation without coming to afactual conclusion. It is said that every muni has a different angle vision, and unless a muni differs from another muni,he cannot be called a muni in the strict sense of the term." (Bhagavad-gita Chapter 2, text 56),

It is true that TKG and his bloc want to step their feet on the head of Srila Prabhupada so that how can they become amuni? Srila Prabhupada is perfect, his teachings are perfect, TKG and his bloc have not preached Srila Prabhupada'steachings as it is to China fallen souls, so how can you said that SP's speaking sometimes is contradictory and hissometime also made mistakes? It was in 1993, one of TKG's former disciple Swarup Damodara Das has beenquestioned on Ekcakra and Umapati Swami's Behavior, Ekacakra and Umapati Swami emphasized too much timeand effort on translating, printing the book of TKG " the story of Liguangshi " (later changed to " new science of yoga"),but neglected the books of Srila Prabhupada. Swarup Damodara Das has so many different opinions on this field with Ekacakra and Umapati Swami, later on he was kicked out to Christianity, now he becomes an enemy of iskcon inChina. Later on the rumors spread in circles of TKG in China, IT says Swarup Damodara Das (SDD) is a greatoffender to guru and he has fallen down into a demo of devotees in China. But until now we still feel doubt about it,because some of our present devotees still have SDD's letter to expose TKG, Ekacakra and Umapati Swami's "lila" inChina, SDD is the first China fallen souls found that the teachings of TKG differs from that of Srila Prabhupada. Whathas happened on SDD has been repeated on Yasoda DD and Bhakta Wang (a post graduated student in BeijingUni.). Those unfortunate fallen souls have written letter to us, and told that TKG and his bloc from the very beginninglooks down upon their Chinese " disciples ", and cover true teachings of Srila Prabhupada to us.

It was in February 1998, TKG and Giridhari Swami as well as Umapati Swami has received letter on Translation of BGfrom Acyuta Das. In his letter, Acyuta Das (now he is a Bhakta according to Umapati Swami and Krishna Baladeva'sopinion, for he rejected against Ekacakra BBT) strong condemned such tendency of defaming and criticizing SrilaPrabhupada and his teachings in China through Ekacakra and Umapati Swami's Book, and such behavior ofun-authorized changing Srila Prabhupada's Bhagavad-gita As It Is in Chinese (actually re-written), TKG and his blocwrongly considered Acyuta das is a supporter of the "Ritvik", TKG sent Giridhari Swami to come China voting for support of Ekacakra and Umapati Swami's translation of BG, He tried to force Chinese Devotees to accept Ekacakra'sBook. HE expected that the Chinese devotees support Ekacakra and Umapati will up to 70% from 10% and Yaso'sSupport rate will go down from 90% to 10%. We hope the thing would be happing as they expected, but result definitely made them disappointed, so until now them still cover the result of voting.

Giridhari swami is leaving, Radha Caran Das (secretary of TKG, and "small guru") is coming to China with his guruTKG' s special mission. This time Radha Caran Das is seem to be more intelligent, He direct condemned Ekacakraand GBC, he told us he is also a victim of GBC current system, and Ekacakra is only one of GBC representative. ButRadha caran Das did not mentioned any word of Chinese version BG, or what our response is, He just told us somethings about Guru-Tattva, but he tried to step into such field as guru issues, he still made his Chinese associatesdisappointed at last.

After in February 1998, TKG sent more his great Representatives to China, but on the case of Acyuta das, they all havemade a fatal mistake: they kicked out Acyuta das and spread more rumors about AD, in Shanghai and BeijingUmapati Swami and Krishna Baladeva Das encouraged their Disciples to slander and attack personally Acyuta Daswithout any bases. They turned 70% of devotees in Govardhan and 90% of Devotees in Nanadgram into the "Ritvikist".Now TKG has banished his disciples in Govardhan and Nanadgram. Actually, we do not know anything about "theRitvik heresy", we should thank Giridhari Swami for it is He who made us understood the true thing of "the ritvikheresy"---the teachings of Srila Prabhupada.

Now in order to cracked down the "ritvik heresy" as TKG and his bloc called in China, TKG begun to introduced "Drutakarma heresy " into China, Krishna Baladeva Das and Umapati Swami has asked his disciples to translated thepart 1 and part 2 of "Drutakarma Heresy " into Chinese, they want to poisoned Chinese fallen souls so that thesincere souls in future can not receive the teaching of Srila Prabhupada. TKG and his bloc in China is considered asevil cult (Article 8 of China Religious rule and regulation)", so why GBC of iskcon still let TKG, Umapati Swami andKrishna Baladeva Das (may be he will be a "guru " in the next Mayapur meeting) to bring "Drutakarma Heresy " toChina? In Drutakarma Heresy theory, there are existing so many craze speculations and concocts about Srila Prabhupada's teachings. TKG, Ekacakra, Umapati Swami and Krishna Baladeva Das used Srila Prabhupada's nameand ISKCON to defame and criticize Srila Prabhupada in China, now Drutakarma Heresy theory was used by TKGand his bloc to lead Chinese fallen souls to join into the program of offending against Srila Prabhupada in China. Now TKG and HIS BLOC have covered what has been happing in China to outside devotees, and hidden what hasbeen happing in outside to Chinese Devotees.

Coming back to the issue of Guru-tattva, We have been following the debate between Umapati and Krishankant, TKGand Krishnakant , Drutakarma and Krishnakant, We can say that our realizations on this issue will be much betterthan that of TKG and his bloc. Here we may question TKG and his bloc if they have participated any morning programin iskcon temple, otherwise how they can not understand such simple principle of Guru:

Ebe jasa ghusuk tribhuvana

So where TKG and his bloc in China showed such honor to Srila Prabhupada? And where those gurus like TKG andUmapati Swami and Krishna Baladeva as well as Drutakarma has been acknowledged in ALL REVEALEDSRIPTURES AND FOLLOWED BY ALL AUTHORITIES? We have been watching what TKG and His bloc has done inChina, But their behavior mistreated with the poor Chinese souls make us very hard to associate with a "guru" in theteaching of ISKCON!! But now in Shanghai and Beijing, in one way we are told that TKG is representative of LordKrishna, Umapati Swami is pure devotee of Krishna, Krishna Baladeva and Radha Caran Das is most confidentialservitor of TKG, they all are qualified to be a guru for they are 100% in Krishna Consciousness, and they hasmastered the science of Krishna Consciousness, they can reveal the Vedic Conclusion to us. In another way we aretold that Guru can be a conditioned soul. We are also told that those gurus and Mahajara are not different, but we arereally told different teachings, those different teaching of Srila Prabhupada, those teachings different from differentgurus in China. So TKG and his bloc is like Umapati swami and Drutakarma so confused and self-contradict, howcan we put out faith on them to teach the teaching as it is to us?

("Krishna has maintained spiritual individuality all along; if he is accepted as an ordinary conditioned soul in individualconsciousness, then His Bhagavad-gita has no value as authoritative scripture. A Common man with all the foursdefects of human frailty is unable to teach that which is worth hearing." Bhagavad-gita as it is Chapter 2 text12 purport).

" Therefore, if the absolute truth is one, about which we can think there is no different of opinion, the guru alsoCANNOT be TWO. The Acaryadeva to whom we have assembled tonight offer our humble homage is not the guru ofa sectarian institution or one out of many differing exponents of the truth. On the contrary, he is the JAGAD-GURU,Guru of all of us" (The Universal Teacher by Srila Prabhupada ).

So as we can see, in China we already have different gurus, one guru will teach something different from that ofanother guru.

We are told by Krishna Baladeva Das that Guru can be fallen down and TKG is such a spiritual master who can revealthe Vedic Conclusions to us!!! But now we have been waiting for more than ten years in China for such "Vedicconclusions", in TKG's great masterpiece " Srila Prabhupada's Order", even such simple thing as " parampara wasbroken " TKG understood as " Parampara was ended ", so how can we trust them to reveal the Vedic conclusion tous. Actually, TKG and His Bloc has not yet reached to any Vedic Conclusions, otherwise how can those gurus inChina necessary preach another " fallen guru" philosophy to us? Most unfortunate things are: They taught hisinnocent disciples to use Chaper 9:30 of Bhagavad-gita as an excuse to defend the behavior of fallen gurus.

WE are called by TKG, Umapati and Krishna Baladeva as demo, offender and ritvikist and Mayavadi, here we wouldlike to them to answer us the following questions: what is demo? What is offence? What is ritvik? What is Mayavadi?When we have obtained mystic power to commit offence unto them?

TEXT21: "Whatever action a great man performs, common men follow. And whatever standards he sets by exemplaryacts, all the world pursues."

Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu said that a teacher should behave properly before he begins teaching. One who teaches inthat way is called acarya, or an ideal teacher. Therefore, a teacher must follow the principle sastra to teach the commonman. The teacher cannot manufacture rules against the principle of revealed scriptures, like Manu-samhita and similarother, are considered the standard books to be followed by human society. Thus the leader's teaching should be basedon the principles of such standard sastra.( Bhagavad-gita as it is Chapter 3, purport).

Mantra nine: " Those who engage in the culture of Nescient activities shall enter into the darkest region ofignorance. Worse still are those engaged in the culture of so-called knowledge."

According to the Vedas, Mistaken mundane educators are known as 1) Veda-vada-rata, 2) mayapahrta-jnana, 3)asuram bhavam asrita, and 4) naradhama. eW But veda-vada-rata people, instead of realizing the purport of theVedas, take it for granted that side issues such as eW. Such people misguide others by misinterpreting Vedic literature, Sometime they also condemn the Puranas, which are authentic Vedic explanation for laymen. The Veda-vada ratasgive their own explanations of the Vedas, neglecting of the authority of great teacher (acaryas). They also tend to raisesome un-scrupulous person from among themselves and flaunt him as the leading exponent of VedicknowledgeeW.(Sri Isopanisad )

Text 1: Translation: " Sri Sukadeva Goswami said: O king Pariksit, when Bali Maharaja was thus advised by hisspiritual master, Sukracarya, his family priest, he remained silent for some time, and then, after full deliberation, hereplied to his spiritual master as follows."

Purport: eW How could he disobey the instruction of Sukracarya, his spiritual master? It is the duty of such a soberpersonality a Bali Maharaja to abide by the orders of his spiritual master immediately, as his spiritual master hadadvised. But Bali Maharaja also considered that The Sukracarya was no longer to be accepted as a spiritual master, forhe had deviated from the duty of a spiritual master. According to sastra, the duty of the guru is to take the disciple backhome, back to Godhead. If he is unable to do so and instead hinders the disciple in going back to Godhead, he shouldnot be a guru. Gurur na sa syat (Sri Bhagavatam. 5.5.18). One should not become a guru if he cannot enable hisdisciple to advance in Krishna Consciousness, The goal of life is to become a devotee of Lord Krishna so that onemay freed from the bondage of material existenceeW. Anyone who is supposed to be a guru but who goes against theprinciple of Visnu-bhakti cannot be accepted as a guru. ( Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 8, Ch20:Text1 andpurport )

"Sukracarya, being a person of material world, did not know the principles of a devotee, a devotee is determined toserve the Supreme Personality of Godhead to His full satisfaction. Anything that hampers such determination shouldcertainly be rejected."

So considering the one part events of above mentioned, we decided to write this report to GBC of ISKCON and BBT,we hope you will understand the fact that TKG, Umapati Swami, Ekacakra Das, Krishna Baladeva Das, Radha CaranDas, Narasimha Swami and Cadrasekhara Das can not represent Srila Prabhupada in China, they can not preach the teaching of Srila Prahupada to his "Chinese disciples". In the past ten years, they have done more damages thandevelopement the good fame of Srila Prabhupada's ISKCON in China. For the sake of Srila Prabhhpada's movementand the mission of Lord Caitanya, please take necessary actions to check their behaviors. Considering TKG and hisbloc's mistreat with our Chinese fallen souls and telling lie to us, we all reject TKG and his bloc as our guru, and wealso strong condemn the Drutakarma Heresy Theory in China. WE do not want "the war", if TKG and HIS bloc will usehis other part "disciples" to continue to defame Srila Prabhupada and fight against his "fallen disciples " in China, WEwill definitely give "a good return". Under the leadership and guide of the GBC of Srila Prabhupada's ISCKON andSincere Followers of Srila Prabhupada, WE will still support and accept any decisions and resolutions come from theGBC of SP.

If we make any offences you, we beg at your lotus feet for your forgiveness!
