[PADA: Just wanted to send this "one off" letter since it explains
the whole poison issue v. IRM in a pretty good summary. This account is from
a person who has inside contacts in the Calcutta/ Mayapura scene. It details
how Adri brokered a deal with other GBCs (like Jayapataka) over the poison issue
in order to save himself from being investigated for bookeeping errors, something
which can be devastating in India. "To save his own behind" in other
words.
Another person close to Adri also said the same thing to me on the phone, that he was going ahead with the poison idea and Nityananda's book until Krishna Kanta advised against it. That is also why KK advised going to CHAKRA, because KK wanted to diffuse the poison issue and make himself the de facto "latter day saint of the reformed, reformed, reformers," and make a sort of IRM/ reform/ CHAKRA compromise to win back the whole of ISKCON. Of course, back to what? And he would be the head of this hodge podge. In sum, Adri was afraid of the GBC exposing him in his bookeeping and so he brokered a deal in order to save his hide, and KK was the handy tool to help keep this brokered deal alive with a "writer." As we all know, KK is the real writer of "Adri's" papers, something everyone complains of all along. So there was deal brokering from the get go.
It also shows how Krishna Kanta saw this weakness in Adri as his "go ahead signal" to disrupt the reform by making himself the new nyayaka logician of "the new way things are going to be run." Of course, KK said that this is what Hansadutta was going to do, be the maverick that ruined the reform. Yet KK has done ten thousand percent more damage than Hansadutta could dream of doing in destroying the reform. And now that everyone is arguing whether the words "I am being poisoned" is direct or indirect, the nyayaka is happy. He monkey wrenched the reform. Simply wonderful.
This also occured at Kurukshetra, some people took the side of Duryodhana and they could not be wedged from that, because they had brokered a deal and they were going to benefit from that. Or at least, they thought they were. So this would make KK the Duryodhana of the reform, he has fractured it better than the GBC could have ever done simply because he was not getting recognized as the next big cheeze writer he thinks he is, and worse, by stealing everyone else's writings from VVR, pada, Yasodanandana, The Betrayal and etc. KK even says he did not borrow any ideas from me, despite that he had made phone calls to me before he wrote anything where he honed his ideas. In America we have a saying, "I hope I can become as wonderful as my dog thinks I am."]

The actual story for Adri distancing himself from the poison issue is as follows:
Actually Adri was a supporter of the poison issue ever since the
issue got highlighted sometimes in 1997-98. B4 until then I had never heard
him discussing the issue with anyone. The ritvik issue started sometimes in
’96. He got obsessed with it. So obsessed he also gave the poison book
by Nityananda to his lawyers for consideration if that can be used against the
GBC or the gurus in any way.
This is the time when KK became his life & soul.
[PADA: And KK was always against pada for our exposing dirt tactics. So, the poison issue was to KK simpy another clod of dirt, nevermind that Srila Prabhupada says it is causing him distress directly. Directly. Directly. Directly. Directly.]
KD: Nothing wrong with this, of course! Then the court case happened in march’99. Then many developments took place between Cal & Mayapur (MPR). His main source of income was from Gurusaday Road property which he gave on rent for 3 lacs per day. Some days it was 3 and a half or even 4 also.
Then from MPR Dayaram (DRD) gave a complaint letter to the Fire Services Dept & also to the Calcutta Corporation. This was followed by a letter by JPS to the Corporation saying that Adri didn’t have permissions from the ISKCON Bureau which is the managerial body for ISKCON in India. A Bureau meeting was set up to be held on 20th October. Adri knew his day had come. His accounts were completely in disarray. He had some accounts but no proper accounts although during the seasons there were parties almost daily. He filed a case in the Calcutta High court pleading that the Bureau meeting not be allowed.
His request was not granted by the HC but it gave a ruling that whatever was decided in the Bureau meeting should be brought up before the HC in order to take effect. Adri went to the meeting. He had Madhu Pandit lined up for another case in the Charity Commissioner’s office. In this case they brought out the point that how the foreigners can be in Bureau & rule in India? This case is still pending & we do not know the present position of this case.
Anyway, the meeting took place on the scheduled 20th of October. All the Bureau members were present. JPS, BCS, GKG, Bhakti Swarup Damodar Swami, Sridhar Swami, Adri, Madhu Pandit, Bhima, Bhakta Rupa, Jasomatinandan, Mahaman, Kadamba Kanan Swami, Lokenath Swami, Devakinandan, Basu Ghosh, & others. Total 18 of them are Bureau members. In that meeting Adri blackmailed the gurus, specially targeting JPS. Since they brought out the point of his accountability, he also charged them with the same. Finally they reached a settlement, that no one will blaspheme anyone with charges of non-accountability.
A letter was presented in the meeting which was written by Adri to his lawyers in which he had implored his lawyers to look for a way so that the poison book by Nityananda can be used against the gurus & GBC. Again a verbal war started. Adri could not deny as the letter written & signed by him was there for proof. Anyway after the blacklash by the Bureau members Adri finally promised that he will not raise the poison issue against them. The meeting lasted for the whole day of 20th October, whole day & night of 21st October & finished on the 22nd of October just around mangal arati time.
That was the end. Ever after that Adri never went ‘against’ the GBC
as far as the poison issue is concerned. Moral of the above article: Just
to keep his post of TP, Adri is ready to compromise on anything.
