HISTORY DOCUMENT! We have got so many repeated questions where we have had to repeat the answers that we decided to make a historical document showing basically how we arrived at certain conclusions in a sort of brief essay rather than a book. Please help us fill in details, correct the dates etc. but keep in mind this is not a comprehensive study of ISKCON but merely an illustration of points. Major stories should be included and if we missed some, let us know. We are sorry but we are not going to work on the regular newsletter issues, unless something noteworthy comes up, until this is finished. Thanks pd

A HARE KRISHNA's Story: There was a rumor when we came to India that Srila Prabhupada had to come there and flee America because four of his "leading secretaries," some of his first renunciate "sannyasis," had locked him up in a room in Los Angeles and had tried to make him sign legal documents giving them legal control of the Hare Krishna movement. The story was that Prabhupada refused to eat anything for four days and the plotters became alarmed that he would die, so they had to let him out. Prabhupada wrote of this incident at the time that "the most sinister movement is within our movement."
