Prabhupada: (break) ...worm and the sun. When the sun is arisen, the glowworms, automatically finished. (break) ...motto, "Krsna is sun." You know it? Krsna surya-sama. So when Krsna sun is there, all these glowworms' lightening will be finished. (break) Keep this sun always shining. Then these glowworms will be finished.

Prabhupada: Ah. So this is our one of the items, to vanquish all these rascals, so-called swamis. They say that "Why you criticize others also?" Because we have to vanquish them. Now these people cannot rise. When there is sunrise, there is no use of these glowworms. So this Krsna consciousness movement is Krsna Himself. Therefore they must be finished, all over the world. So-called religionists, so-called philosophers, so-called avataras, swamis, yogis--finished. Our program should be like that. (break) ...all these rascals, anymore to flourish. That is one of our program.

Bali-mardana: They are like glowworms, and you are like the sun.
Prabhupada: No, they know that "These people they are wanting something, so let us go and cheat." This is going on.
Bali-mardana: They're simply businessmen.
Prabhupada: So far I am concerned, I have not come here to cheat you nor to gain. I've come to execute the order of my Guru Maharaja.
Bali-mardana: Jaya. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Prabhupada: I have no business to cheat you neither to get something from you.

Note:  If we open thousands of centers dedicated to hearing Srila Prabhupada's message. If we print and profusly distribute his original books to all the other fallen souls. If go out on Sankirtana together chanting under Srila Prabhupada's shelter. If we establish Hare Krishna Food Relief, and distribute millions of plates of real Prasadam, foodstuffs offered to Krishna through the bona-fide Spiritual Master Srila Prabhupada, then the Prabhupada Sun will keep Shinning.
The result all these glowworms will be finished ! 
 

WHERE THE SUN OF KRSNA EXISTS THERE CANNOT BE DARKNESS OF MAYA
SB 1.2.19 The soul's activity becomes adulterated in contact with matter, and as such the diseased activities are expressed in the form of lust, desire, hankering, inactivity, foolishness and sleep. The effect of devotional service becomes manifest by complete elimination of these effects of passion and ignorance. The devotee is fixed at once in the mode of goodness, and he makes further progress to rise to the position of Vasudeva, or the state of unmixed sattva, or suddha-sattva. ONLY IN THIS SUDDHA-SATTVA STATE CAN ONE ALWAYS SEE KRSNA EYE TO EYE BY DINT OF PURE AFFECTION FOR THE LORD. 

 

1. CENERS DEDICATED TO HEARING SRILA PRABHUPADA'S MESSAGE
 
You just associate with the person bhagavata who is realized soul and hear from him this the same book, the same knowledge. Krishna's representative. Just like Krishna says, tat samasena me srnu. Me srnu: "Hear from Me or My representative. Then you will benefit."So these centers are being opened just to give the opportunity to the people who are suffering not only in this life, life after life."

Pious activities means to cleanse the heart. Because our heart is overloaded with so many sinful activities, therefore we are suffering. So by hearing, satam prasangat, by hearing from the realized soul, by hearing the Bhagavad-gita, Bhagavata, as it is, your heart will be cleansed.

srnvatam sva-kathah Krishnah punya-sravana-kirtanah
hrdy antah-stho hy abhadrani...

Abhadrani means rajo-guna, tamo-guna. Even sattva-guna is also mixed with rajo-guna, tamo-guna. But if you hear about Krishna... We are opening all over the world hundreds of centers. Why? We are giving chance to the people to hear about Krishna

 Actually, the teachings of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu that in every town and village there will be a center of Krishna Consciousness, is essential. People must co-operate. If not, then they will have to suffer.

 Therefore our mission is if we can create some sadhu and they distribute themselves all over the world... As Caitanya Mahaprabhu, prthivite ache yata nagaradi grama sarvatra pracara haibe mora nama. He wants that in every village, every town of the whole world, there may be a center of Krishna consciousness so that people will take advantage of it and they will also become sadhu. This is the mission of Krishna consciousness.

This was Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's mission as it was predicted by Him in the Caitanya-bhagavata (Antya 4.126):

prthivite ache yata nagaradi-grama

sarvatra pracara haibe mora nama

Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu wanted the Hare Krishna movement, with installed Deities, to spread to every village and town in the world, so that everyone in the world might take advantage of this movement and become all-auspicious in spiritual life.

 I am very glad to know that you are so eager to start a center when you get married. That is very nice. We want to open hundreds and thousands of centers in every town, village, neighborhood, and everywhere. And we want to show ideal householder life also. If one pair of nice Krishna Conscious householders are there, so many people derive benefit out of their behaviour.

2. PRINTING AND DISTRIBUTING SRILA PRABHUPADA'S  ORIGINAL BOOKS
  
Prabhupada: So you... What you are going... It is very serious situation. You write one letter that "Why you have made so many changes?" And whom to write? Who will care? All rascals are there. Write to Satsvarupa that "This is the position. They are doing anything and everything at their whim." The next printing should be again to the original way.

Please try to popularize this book throughout England as much as possible. Because if these books are read, there is no doubt that many sincere souls shall be attracted and will join you in your work for Krishna. So please try for selling these books, it shall be considered as the greatest service.

I am very glad to hear all the good news, especially that you want to sell books more and more. That is the best preaching work; each book sold means there is some practical effect of preaching, there is some tangible progress. So try to sell books as many as possible in your country, and in this way, so long you remain active but not for your personal sense-gratification, so long you remain active only satisfying Krishna's senses, then this

movement will be successful without any doubt. As soon as someone wants to satisfy his own senses, then he fails at everything.

So I am always emphasizing book distribution. It is the better kirtana. It is better than chanting. Of course chanting should not stop, but book distribution is the best kirtana.

Our books are being appreciated by learned circles, so we should take advantage. Whatever progress we have made, it is simply to distributing these books. So that is the real preaching, selling books. Who can speak better than the books? At least whoever buys, he will look over. If you have to sell books, do it by hook or by crook. The real preaching is selling books. You should know the tactic how to sell without irritating. What your lecture will do for three minutes, but if he reads one page his life may be turned.

The results show that there is no limit to our book distribution. Our books are qualified to be distributed unlimitedly.

The word kriyasu, meaning "by manual labor" or "by work," is important in this verse. One should engage in practical service to the Lord. In our Krsna consciousness movement, all our activities are concentrated upon distributing Krsna literature. This is very important. One may approach any person and induce him to read Krsna literature so that in the future he also may become a devotee. Such activities are recommended in this verse. Kriyasu yas tvac-caranaravindayoh. Such activities will always remind the devotees of the Lord's lotus feet. By fully concentrating on distributing books for Krsna, one is fully absorbed in Krsna. This is samadhi.

These books are the life of human society. Others may be disturbed, but they cannot disturb this Srimad-Bhagavatam. Let any man come, but here they cannot touch. We are putting these books for deliberation before the topmost thinkers of human society. Therefore, I have to see that in all languages all of our books published. If we strain, and if he takes one book home, some day people will come to understand what valuable knowledge they harve received. It is transcendental literature. Nobody can challenge it. It is done so nicely, without any spot, the spotless Purana. Please continue like this to print books in all the languages for the benefit of suffering, misdirected humanity.

Please print as many books as possible, this is my real pleasure. By printing these books of our Krsna Conscious philosophy in so many different languages we can actually inject our movement into the masses of persons all over the world, especially there in the western countries and we can literally turn whole nations into Krsna Conscious nations.

Anyway, print books, distribute profusely, and that will be the best preaching work. What will your three minutes' preaching do?--but if they buy one book, it may turn their life.

Yes, that is a good proposal, print many many books in African language and distribute widely, that is real preaching work. If you sell a book to someone, that is better than your speaking to them--what will your three minutes' preaching do? But if they read a book it may turn their life.

3. PERFORMING STREET SANKIRTANA
 
Umapati: So how... Is it a waste of time then to present Krsna consciousness philosophy to someone who believes in doing your own thing? Do you think that that is a...?
Prabhupada: No. It is, it is... We should push Krsna consciousness as disinfecting agent. They're all infected, the whole world. So by chanting you disinfect.
Umapati: Just by our presence chanting then?
Prabhupada: Yes. Therefore chanting is so important. Philosophy later on. First of all, ceto-darpana-marjanam, cleansing the heart.
Devotees: Jaya.
Prabhupada: Cleansing the heart. So by hearing this chanting their heart will be cleansed gradually. Then they will understand the real position.
Umapati: Oh. Jaya.
Hrdayananda: Oh, Krsna.
Prabhupada: So we have to do this chanting, not sit down in a solitary place, chanting himself. No, not like that. You are to vibrate the sound for the benefit of others.
Umapati: That is the mystical process of this movement.
Prabhupada: Yes, yes. So that their heart may be cleansed and they can understand. And if I sit down in a solitary place, for my benefit, that may be his benefit, but it is not very high class engagement. He must sacrifice for others.

It is also very encouraging to note that you are going out into the streets to chant and preach to the people there. This is a very good policy, and as far as possible you should continue to go out and let the local inhabitants of Hawaii become very familiar with the sound of Hare Krishna Mantra. This will insure the success of our center there, and it is also very pleasing to Krishna to see His devotee taking courage in this way. So by no means should you give up this very nice activity.

It is very, very encouraging that you are holding kirtanas in public places and some way or other people are becoming interested. These outdoor kirtanas should be rigidly followed at least one hour daily. That will make our movement popular there.

4. HARE KRISHNA FOOD RELIEF
 
So that is one of the process of devotional service, that we should offer very sumptuously to the Lord, and the prasada should be distributed. The Lord is not taking away to His abode, to His kingdom. It is for you. But if you eat and if you distribute that sort of prasada to the public, you are doing great service and the public is getting spiritual consciousness, God consciousness. Just establish, just propagate this everywhere. In the hospital, in the charitable societies, in industrial places, everywhere distribute this prasada and chant this Hare Krsna. Just see what is the result.

CRACKING DOWN ALL OPPOSING PARTIES
 
If you all keep to the standard practices of pure spiritual life as I have humbly instructed you, there is no doubt that this Sankirtana Movement of Lord Caitanya will overtake all the earth and all opposing parties will be cracked down to nothing.

"There are many jealous people in the dress of Vaishnavas in this Krishna Consciousness movement, and they should be completely neglected. A false acarya may try to override a vaishnava by a high-court decision, (2/3 hand vote) but Bhaktivinoda Thakura says that he is nothing but a disciple of Kali-yuga.".

"Bhaktivinoda Thakura says, Kali-cela. He indicates that there are other Vaishnavas, pseudo-Vaishnavas, with tilaka on their nose and kunti beads around their neck. Such a pseudo-Vaishnava associates with money and women and is jealous of successful Vaishnavas. Although passing for a Vaishnava, his only business is earning money in the dress of a Vaishnava". (CC.Madhy.,Ch.1, Text 218 / 220, purport)

The whole situation has been spoiled by these so-called rascal gurus who gives his own opinion. This is our plain declaration: Let any rascal guru come. We can convince him that he is not guru, because he is speaking differently....So guru is one. Guru cannot be two. As soon as you find two opinions of guru, either both of them are rascals, or one is still at least rascal. (Lecture: What is a Guru? London, August 22, 1973)

THE RASCAL EDITORS (Jayadvaita Swami), THEY ARE DOING HAVOC

Prabhupada: The rascal editors, they are doing havoc.
Yasoda-nandana: Sometimes they appeal that "We can make better English," so they change like that, just like in the case of Isopanisad. There are over a hundred changes. So where is the need? Your words are sufficient. The potency is there. When they change, it is something else.
Svarupa Damodara: That's actually a very dangerous mentality.
Yasoda-nandana: What is it going to be in five years? It's going to be a different book.
Prabhupada: So you... What you are going... It is very serious situation. You write one letter that "Why you have made so many changes?" And whom to write? Who will care? All rascals are there. Write to Satsvarupa that "This is the position. They are doing anything and everything at their whim." The next printing should be again to the original way.
Tamala Krsna: They should have a board of Satsvarupa and Jayadvaita.
Prabhupada: Hm.
Tamala Krsna: Those two men are both in Los Angeles now.
Prabhupada: So write them immediately that "The rascal editors, they are doing havoc, and they are being maintained by Ramesvara and party." (S.P.Conversation, "Rascal Editors,"June 22, 1977, Vrndavana)

Prabhupada: Change of government... Just like they say, a change of theories by the rascals. Change means rascal.
Harikesa: But as soon as a government changes...
Prabhupada: Anything change means it is the domain of rascals, pandemonium. Just like in Manu-samhita it is said that, nasyam svatantratam arhati, women should not be given independence. Once said, that is fact. If you want to change, you suffer. That's all. (S.P. Morning Walk December 14, 1975, New Delhi)

Don't make addition, alteration. Then you become rascal. Immediately you become rascal. And many times they give me very great credit that I have done wonderful. Yes, I have done wonderful. But what is the reason? Because I am not a rascal. I speak what Krsna has spoken. That's all. Very easy. Everyone can do that. Not only I. Any of you, you can do this. Simply speak what is..., what Krsna has said. That's all. Don't make addition, alteration. Then you become rascal. Immediately you become rascal. (Srimad-Bhagavatam Lecture 1.5.29 Vrndavana, August 10, 1974)

PRABHUPADA: THE RASCALS ARE READY TO CHECK THIS MOVEMENT

So this movement is so important. Somehow or other if you can engage them in chanting and dancing, the whole world will be united. What the United Nations has failed, this movement can do--if it is not checked by the rascals. But the rascals are ready to check this movement. That is the difficulty. Otherwise, God, Krsna, is always ready to help us. (Srimad-Bhagavatam 3.26.18 Bombay, December 27, 1974)

Although jealous persons may be envious, if we stick to our principles and follow in the footsteps of the Panca-tattva, this movement will go on unchecked by imitation svamis, sannyasis, religionists, philosophers or scientists, for it is transcendental to all material considerations. Therefore those who propagate the Krishna consciousness movement should not be afraid of such rascals and fools. (C.C. Adi 7.24)

So these rascals, position, the rascal guardians, you have to fight with them, but not with sword or any other weapon; the sankirtana movement, yajnaih sankirtana-prayaih. If you stick to this principle of chanting Hare Krsna mantra, yajnaih, if you have got good brain, su-medhasah, then you will take this means, and by the help of Sri Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu, you'll conquer all over the world. All over the world. You cannot take up any other means. That will not be successful because the sastra says, yajnaih sankirtana-prayair yajanti hi su-medhasah.
