Hari bol Prabhu. In your newsletter, "History 101", of March 30, 2000, you said you were looking for the date that Yuvati reported Sulocana's murder to the police. I just spoke to her, and she said it was the very next day. She drove down from Badger with him, to stay at my place, around the corner from where he was shot. Nitstragunya drove her to the police station. If you have any more questions about this, I keep in constant touch with her so I will be glad to convey them. Hope you are in good health, and blissfully absorbed in Radhe-Shyam's Lotus Feet.

They were already doing surveillance on my vehicle and Tirtha was staring at my truck in front of the temple with his hands on his hips a few days before he got Sulochana, as the Berkely PD told me anyway. Her quick acting helped me a lot, and perhaps more than that. Thank her for me please. ys pd

1) OFF TO BERKELEY, August 1984
It was winter in Mount Shasta and there was maybe a foot of snow on the ground. I was out shopping in my old Ford truck when I saw a classic Mercedes car parked on the side of the road. This car looked familiar. Was this (the "guru") Hansadutta's car? I parked behind the car and after some time Hansadutta "swami" and his faithful servant Chakravarti dasa emerged from a store. We greeted each other and Hansadutta invited me to come over to visit him at another devotee's house in Mount Shasta.
When I arrived the next day Hansadutta was resting and Chakravarti explained that Hansadutta's condition was that of being "overdosed" on several drugs and alcohol. This was creating a toxic condition whereby he was sleeping most of the day, and in fact he was only awake about one hour a day. In other words, Hansadutta was close to dying. The Berkeley temple was spending several thousand dollars per week on a professional "detoxification center" near Golden Gate Park for their "guru," but it was not working. I asked, "Why is he taking so much intoxication"? And Chakravarti said, "It is those constant chronic migraines. He just can't take them anymore. And that is why we came to Mount Shasta, for the health spas."
A short while later Hansadutta emerged from his rest and we all sat around a large table. "I think I should just die and get it over," said Hansadutta. I said, "No! You cannot just die right now, you will leave behind so many confused people, especially your followers. You have to set them straight." "I can't," said Hansadutta, "I've tried to tell them that I am not their guru, that their guru is really Srila Prabhupada, but they will not listen. They insist on continuing to worship me." Of course I was not convinced that he had really tried to convince them effectively.
"We have to start by dismantling the bogus guru appointment," I said. "This is the first level of illusion that needs to be corrected, the GBC's saying that they were 'appointed' by Srila Prabhupada as his guru successors." Hansadutta agreed and he added, "That is right. The eleven of us held secret meetings after Srila Prabhupada departed where we hammered out this whole bogus appointment thing. Ramesvara and Kirtanananda wanted to leave the meeting right away, saying that they already had tons of people waiting in line for initiation. But Satsvarupa said, 'Wait, you cannot go yet. We have to make sure we all give the same answers to the same questions, or this appointment thing will fall apart in two weeks.' So, Satsvarupa played 'Devil's advocate' and he mock debated us until we all got this whole appointment idea worked out solidly. It is all a big scam."
I further told Hansadutta that the cause of his headaches was probably from taking the karma of disciples. Srila Prabhupada had told us not to even let people touch our feet casually, or we would get some karma. And we would get sick and have to suffer. Yet your GBC's gurus have hundreds of people washing their feet? Moreover, sitting in the seat of the pure devotee is very offensive, so you will all get a negative reaction for that as well. All considered, constant chronic migraines is probably just a warning for the reactions that you will get if you do not stop this now. Hansadutta shook his head knowingly and said, "Yes, this is probably all true."
So then I detailed a plan of action. We would have to stop all forms of his being worshipped and re-establish the worship of Srila Prabhupada. He seemed to be very happy and relived at this prospect and he said, "OK, let us do it. We can start in the Berkeley temple." He said he would give me a facility to stay there, and a plan was made for me to go there in the near future.
A short while later our little family landed on the Berkeley temple's doorstep. Hansadutta was there at the time, but he seemed very surprised that we had actually finally made it as agreed. Most of his followers were very stiff and tense, since he had apparently not told them that we were coming. I already had a reputation for "challenging the gurus," "being an offender to the eleven appointed pure devotees," and so on, thus some of his followers looked a little grim. He held an emergency meeting right then, but I was not invited. I am not sure what he told his followers but he at least told them to be polite, and perhaps, not to beat us up, which was the fate that some dissidents met there.
Our presence there was of course quite a shock to his followers since I would walk around and say, "Oh these gurus were never appointed, Hansadutta admits that they all lied." Many of them were very angry, yet they were forcibly restrained from taking steps to silence me due to Hansadutta's order. Meanwhile, all this was turning out to be too much for Hansadutta himself. Our presence was reminding him of the whole bogus platform of his "guru" post. So after a few days I heard him shouting in the temple foyer, "Tell a lie so big no one will believe that it could be a lie," and he was saying this repeatedly. A few of his followers finally came to his rescue and they had to lead him away to his room.
He was having a sort of nervous breakdown ...due to my presence probably? This culminated exactly one week, to the day, later. Hansadutta went out in his Toyota Jeep with four loaded guns and he shot out the Cadillac dealer's plate-glass windows, and then he shot out the windows of Ledger's Liquor store. Both buildings were occupied at the time and the patrons "hit the deck." A policeman stopped Hansadutta's Jeep shortly thereafter. And officer Joe Sanchez told me later, "That officer shit his pants when he saw four guns in the front of that Jeep. He thought this guy in the Jeep is whacked and he has another gun hidden somewhere and he is going to use it on me." A bottle of liquor was found on the floor of the Jeep, and Hansadutta was carrying nearly eight thousand dollars cash on his person. Hansadutta was arrested for firing a gun at occupied buildings.
And that was our introduction to the Berkeley temple! --to be continued--

Srila Prabhupada is preaching this in different planets, traveling in outer space. Srila Prabhupada hardly ever travels on land; he is perpetually traveling in space. Srila Prabhupada is traveling all over the universe educating people and increasing his disciples.
The four Kumaras and all other authorized sages know perfectly that devotional service in Krsna consciousness is the essence of all Vedic literatures, and they are all preaching this in different planets, traveling in outer space. It is stated herein that such sages, including Narada Muni, hardly ever travel on land; they are perpetually traveling in space....Sages and saints like Narada and the Kumaras are traveling all over the universe educating people and increasing their disciples to preach this process of devotional service so all the conditioned souls may be able to revive their original consciousness, or Krsna consciousness, and thus gain relief from the miserable conditions of material life.

TO YOU ALL
Srila Prabhupada's Letter to Rupanuga 4/28/74: In the latter days of my Guru
Maharaja he was very disgusted. Actually, he left this world earlier, otherwise
he would have continued to live for more years. Still he requested his disciples
to form a strong Governing body for preaching the cult of Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
He never recommended anyone to be acarya of the Gaudiya Math. But Sridhara Maharaja
is responsible for disobeying this order of Guru Maharaja, and he and others
who are already dead unnecessarily thought that there must be one acarya.
If Guru Maharaja could have seen someone who was qualified at that time to be acarya he would have mentioned. Because on the night before he passed away he talked of so many things, but never mentioned an acarya. His idea was talked of so many things, but never mentioned an acarya. His idea was acarya was not to be nominated amongst the governing body. He said openly you make a GBC and conduct the mission. So his idea was amongst the members of GBC who would come out successful and self effulgent acarya would be automatically selected. So Sridhara Maharaja and his two associate gentlemen unauthorizedly selected one acarya and later it proved a failure. The result is now everyone is claiming to be acarya even though they may be kanistha adhikari with no ability to preach. In some of the camps the acarya is being changed three times a year. Therefore we may not commit the same mistake in our ISKCON camp. Actually amongst my Godbrothers no one is qualified to become acarya. So it is better not to mix with my Godbrothers very intimately because instead of inspiring our students and disciples they may sometimes pollute them. This attempt was made previously by them, especially Madhava Maharaja and Tirtha Maharaja and Bon Maharaja but somehow or other I saved the situation.
This is going on. We shall be very careful about them and not mix with them. This is my instruction to you all. They cannot help us in our movement, but they are very competent to harm our natural progress. So we must be very careful about them.

Srila Prabhupada's Letter to Karandhara 10/8/74:
In India some of the important members they have collected huge amounts in the
name of the Society and spent it luxuriously. I wanted you all my experienced
disciples should manage the whole institution very cleverly without any personal
ambition like ordinary materialistic men. The Gaudiya Math institution has become
smashed, at least stopped its program of preaching work on account of personal
ambitions.

Srila Prabhupada's Room Conversation with a Reporter
in Johannesburg 10/16/75:
Krsna sakti vina nahe krsna name pracara: "Without Krsna's special power of attorney, nobody can preach His name." Caitanya-caritamrta. So these rascals, Godbrothers, they are envious that... What he has written? Bon Maharaja. Just see what kind of men they are. They are not even ordinary human being. They are envious of me, and what to speak of make a judgment by estimation? They're envious. Enviousness is immediately disqualification of Vaisnava, immediate. He is not a human being. Paramo nirmatsaranam satam. This Bhagavatam is meant for the person who is completely not envious. That is the beginning. Why a Vaisnava should be envious for anyone? Everyone is working according to his karma. He is trying to rectify him, that "Be out of these clutches of karma. You come to bhakti." Why he should be envious?
Vancha-kalpatarubhyas ca krpa-sindhubhya eva ca. A Vaisnava should be like ocean of mercy to reclaim the fallen souls. That is Vaisnava's qualification. So Vaisnava should be envious? Just see. So these persons, they are not even human being, what to speak of Vaisnava. Vaisnava cannot be envious. Vaisnava should be: "Oh, my Lord's name is being broadcast. He is getting, giving so much service to make Krsna known." That man has appreciated, that "All these spiritual leaders, they are deriding. You are the only man... You are... It enthuses us, give us more encouragement, that you are keeping intact, love of Krsna." This is an appreciation. Why he should be envious? He should be, rather, very much enthused that "This single man is keeping Krsna all over the world." And everyone is deriding. Even Gandhi is killing Krsna. Dr. Radhakrishnan is killing. Their only business is to kill Krsna. He is also doing that, our, this Bon Maharaja. He never speaks of Krsna. His rascal, that Institute of Indian Philosophy, nobody goes to [pass] urine there. We see practically. And our temple is always filled up, five hundred men. And he is trying for the last forty years. He is simply planning: "This will be playground. This will be this ground. This will be this ground." And it is becoming jungle. Still, he is so envious, black snake. So one circular letter should be issued to all our center, that "Any Bon Maharaja or anyone, his representative, should not be received." They are envious. Yes. Quoting that. We have got several complaints like that. Satsvarupa also complained. Sometimes our order was cancelled by Bon Maharaja's propaganda.
THEY ARE DRESSING LIKE VAISNAVA,
AND THEY ARE SO ENVIOUS
Srila Prabhupada's Room Conversation in Bombay 1/8/77:
There are similarly men also. Unnecessarily they are envious, offensive, unnecessary. They cannot tolerate others' opulence. Just like our Godbrothers. They are envious. What I have done to them? I am doing my business, trying to serve my Guru Maharaja. But they are envious because I am so opulent. I have got so much fame, so many influence, so much influence all over the world. Everyone is praising me about... That is ignorance. And this is regrettable because they are posing themselves as Vaisnava. Ordinary man can do that, but they are dressing like Vaisnava, and they are so envious. That Tirtha Maharaja, unnecessarily he was envious, whole life fighting, fighting, fighting in the court and died. Simply planning.
