1) SOCIAL BEEJA INITIATIONS

Narayana Maharaja told a pada associate that he had been ordered by his guru not to initiate anyone. Puri Maharaja also confronted Narayana Maharaja in person and mentioned that his guru had ordered him not to initiate, so why was he doing that? NM did not reply. This is apparently a well known factor in the Gaudiya Matha, that Narayana Maharaja has been ordered not to initiate anyone. Now it seems we are finding out why. According to reports, some of his "initiates" are still smoking marijuana, drinking beer, eating onions and other forbidden things, not even chanting four rounds a day, and so on and so forth.

We also have one letter from a husband complaining that Narayana Maharaja initiated his wife with the known full disagreement of the husband. This is what the GBC's "gurus" do all the time. NM has also given people already initiated by Srila Prabhupada new initiated names, which Srila Prabhupada said is a great insult to him personally when his other Gaudiya friends did this. Is there a pattern here? PADA would like to know if you have more accounts of these "initiations" and we can keep the names confidential. What is going on here? We recall that Govinda Maharaja's follower walked into the Berkeley prasadam room and asked, "Who would like to get initited today?," and then they initated some street people. These things are not the standards.

As far as I know, the only mail from me that has been "leaked" was a letter
I originally posted to several conferences. I have it on good authority
that the letter was leaked by a sannyasi from the Sannyasa Conference.

3) RE: Sanat and Sulochana (pada)

The disagreement I am experiencing with Sanatan Goswami dasa is very simple. First of all, it has nothing to do with what he claims is the issue, i.e. Dr. E. Burke Rochford, a person who has been on my mailing list for years but who has not replied much to anything. Nor has he spoken openly and publicly for our defense, although sometimes he does take the stuffing out of the GBC in regards to their abuses. In fairness to Dr. Rochford, he tries to be a neutral party and that is perhaps somewhat understandable. To an "outsider," even a scholar, a lot of this might look like lunacy on all sides. The Gaudiya Matha was also viewed as an interminable imbroglio to outsiders as well, as was related to us by Srila Prabhupada. I also find the infighting of, say, Iranian Muslim clerics in their parliament to be inscrutable myself.

In short, I never assumed that Dr. Rochford had a full or clear idea of what has occured in ISKCON or why. In any case, I told Sanat all of this in detail, i.e. that Dr. Rochford needed more and direct input. I thus advised him to contact Dr. Rochford directly and personally since they both live on the East Coast and are not far apart. I clearly told Sanat to meet with Dr. Rochford personally and to advise him of all the issues, including the poison issue.

I expected Sanat to do that and he said he would pursue it. And I recall clearly encouraging him to visit Dr. Rochford personally. I never said that I was satisfied with the New York Times article. Sanat also advised me at that time to threaten legal action on the New York Times, and I thought that this is not a good idea if one is not prepared to follow through. You cannot threaten a big organzation like that unless you are prepared, otherwise you may look like a more stoopid crank if you do so. I am also not prepared to legally fight a multi-million dollar organization like that, and I also told that to Sanat, but it never sunk in. He still insisted that I threaten the New York Times with a big and costly lawsuit. In other words, he wanted me to make up a big lie. If that is such good advice, then why did he not get someone else to do it? And if Sanat wants a big expensive lawsuit against the New York Times, he has to approach some wealthy Indians in New York city and canvas for funds, which is also what I advised him to do. But he failed to follow up on that. And instead he has blamed me for his failures on all levels. And that is why it is best to remain at pada's junkyard dog level, that way, if you do anything at all it is like a miracle.

So anyway, all of this is peripheral. The real issue is that Sanat wants to make out like he is the best defender/ friend of Sulochana on the planet, a position that was formely mine when he was here. For starters, Sulochana and myself starting discussing the guru issue in 1980, and we initially agreed on some levels about the bogus gurus, but he was still set on living in New Vrindavana. He finally had his kids ripped away from him at gun point by Kirtanananda's goons in 1984, and that is what convinced him to work with me. And we did.

Our worst problem from the outset was probably none other than Satsvarupa dasa goswami. He was speaking and writing that me and Sulochana were bad, evil, poison, destroyers of ISKCON, guru offenders and so on. And that is perhaps what convinced people more than anything to come and kill us. SDG gave them the philosophical under-pinning that it was bona fide to come and kill us. In February of 1986 me and Sulochana noted that SDG had "painted a bulls eye" on our backs with the Janurary 1986 BTG article saying that Kirtanananda is like Jesus. We were targets for murder. Sure enough, less than 60 days later, Sulochana was killed. Sanat's real problem here is thus that he had accepted SDG as his guru and no doubt he feels very guilty about what occured to Sulochana. I appreciate that, but cannot support any illusions by re-writing history.

So now he is trying to make it look like I was the one who let Sulochana down, when it is he who was in that role as a supporter of SDG. This is reverse psychology meant to make a person feel good about themselves, and it is all very nice as a mechanism of escape. Yet, it will not work to bring Sulochana back. What would make Sulochana happy is if people would not fight amongst themselves but to bring down the bogus guru empire. By the way, Sulochana's appearance day is July 4th. And he sometimes joked that since he has the same birthday as the United States of America, if he can be made a devotee, then the whole USA can be made into devotees. This is actual turning out to be true. When Sulochana is recognized as a the first Western Krishna martyr for bringing down the worship of homosexual pedophiles sitting in Srila Prabhupada's and Krishna's seat, then the mission can progress. As long as the people who object to the worship of homosexual pedophiles are villified, then the movement is dead in the water. Sulochana also thought that Sridhara Maharaja was way off the track for rubber stamping homosexual pedophiles as gurus as well.

4) Dear PADA people,

please accept my humble obeisances, all glory to Srila Prabhupada. With great interest I note that my report on Suhotra Swami has been passed on to you, and posted along with your latest newsletter.

Frankly speaking, I have to admit, I don't mind. It is only good that the truth will come out. It will be for the ultimate benefit of SuS, his disciples, and the vaishnava-society in toto. It may be that I do not gain all that many friends by the publication of this report. However, I am prepared to face it. I seek no friends who foster illusion in the name of spiritual progress. Let me share with you something from Bhaktivinoda Thakura;

"One should give up the association of dharmadhvajis, the hypocritically devout, with special care. Those who accept the external signs of dharma but do not actually follow dharma are called dharmadhvajis. There are two types of dharmadhvajis, the hypocrites and the fools, or the cheaters and the cheated. Such hypocrisy in jnana-kanda and karma-kanda is also condemned. In devotional service this hypocrisy ruins everything. Better associate with sense enjoyers, for in this whole world there is no worse association than the dharmadvaji. The deceitful dharmadvajis accept the signs of dharma with a desire to cheat the world, and to fulfill their crooked desires they cheat the foolish by helping them in their rascaldom.

Some of them become gurus and others become disciples, and by trickery they accumulate wealth, women, false-prestige, and material assets. If one gives up the association of crooked hypocrites, then he can honestly engage in devotional service. Honest worship is the only way to attain Krsnas mercy."

Bhaktyaloka, Chapter Five. "There are three kinds of non-devotees: the Mayavadi, the dharmadhvaji (pretender), and the nirisvara (atheist). Mayavadis never accept the Supreme Lord's form as being eternal. They say the Deity form of the Lord is material, and that the jiva is also a product of maya. A dharmadhvaji is a person who has no devotion or attachment in the heart but makes a show of it externally. He wears the clothes of a devotee to accomplish materialistic ends. A nirisvara is a nonbeliever who rejects God outright. A serious aspirant or sadhaka must shun such bad association. If anyone argues that avoiding such nondevotees is sadhuninda, their company must also be shunned. One has to keep away from such bad association and take complete shelter of the holy name. Only then is love of Godhead ensured."

For your information, after surfing through the institutional structure, I am finally in touch with GBC Executive Committee, who at least potentially have the power to address the issue. I remain curious to see if something will be done. I sincerely hope that the leak of information to you in the form of my report will act as an impetus to the GBC to address the issue with the gravity required.

5) SRILA PRABHUPADA LILAMRTA AS IT IS

Such a personality is krsnalingita-vigraha--that is, he is always embraced by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna.

In this age of Kali, real religious propaganda should induce people to chant the Hare Krsna maha-mantra. This is possible for someone who is especially empowered by Krsna. No one can do this without being especially favoured by Krsna. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura comments in this regard in his Anubhasya, wherein he quotes a verse from Narayana-samhita:

"In Dvapara-yuga, devotees of Lord Visnu and Krsna rendered devotional service according to the principles of pancaratrika in this age of Kali, the Supreme Personality of Godhead is worshipped simply by the chanting of His holy names.', Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura then comments: "Without being empowered by the direct potency of Lord Krsna to fulfil His desire and without being specifically favoured by he Lord, no human being can become the spiritual master of the whole world. He certainly cannot succeed by mental concoction, which is not meant for devotees or religious people. Only an empowered personality can distribute the holy name of the Lord and enjoin all fallen souls to worship Krsna.

By distributing the holy name of the Lord, he cleanses the hearts of the most fallen people; therefore he extinguishes the blazing fire of the material world. Not only that, he broadcasts the shining brightness of Krsna's effulgence throughout the world. Such an acarya, or spiritual master, should be considered non-different from Krsna--that is, he should be considered the incarnation of Lord Krsna's potency. Such a personality is krsnalingita-vigraha--that is, he is always embraced by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna. Such a person is above the considerations of the varnasrama institution. He is the guru or spiritual master for the entire world, a devotee on the topmost platform, the maha-bhagavata stage, and a paramahamsa-thakura, a spiritual form only fit to be addressed as paramahamsa or thakura."

Yasoda-nandana: Sometimes they appeal that "We can make better English," so they change like that, just like in the case of Isopanisad. There are over a hundred changes. So where is the need? Your words are sufficient. The potency is there. When they change, it is something else. Svarupa Damodara: That's actually a very dangerous mentality. Yasoda-nandana: What is it going to be in five years? It's going to be a different book. Prabhupada: So you... What you are going... It is very serious situation. You write one letter that "Why you have made so many changes?" And whom to write? Who will care? All rascals are there. Write to Satsvarupa that "This is the position. They are doing anything and everything at their whim." The next printing should be again to the original way.

7) Dear "Pada":

"I offer my obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! 'Amazed and shocked,' is a breath of fresh air! The book distribution in New York is also nice. Meat grinders in West Virginia is what "Iskcon" is all about. It was, maybe, not as fierce while Prabhupada walked the planet, but the corporate hierachy was in existence even if it to a lesser degree.

Actually, the officials leaders are the ones who "served" Srila Prabhupada poison. If someone asks why the corruption, cover-up, abuse; you name it, has been allowed to continue for 23 years, it is because rank-and-file, big or small, were following in footsteps of evil managers. They can be excused for their lack of knowlege or something. That still does not change the fact of the matter. You also expressed some understanding that perhaps this is the way of devotional life-that there is always, forever, since beginning of time-opposition to seekers of the Truth.

Lord Sri Krsna fought demons for the enjoyment of fighting. Prabhupada is pleased that, finally, the truth of his departure has been exposed, and is now manifesting himself inthe form of topmost lawyers, Interpol, worldwide governments. Even the members of Iskcon are starting to "believe" the truth. His Divine Grace told us there is no threat of danger from outside, but the danger is within the ranks of devotees. Also, Prabhupada invited investigation by the authorities. He said that this would estbablish his organization as bona-fide, (good-faith). So just as there is only danger from within, not outside, also the assistance to clean-up the mess will be from outside. "Pada," will then be recognized as the leading Prabhupadanuga for all time. (Running out of time) So the boat is leaking, or the ship is sinking and the criminals are squirming.

Just as any other maha-cleanup! The is the meaning of the translation to the third-verse of samsara prayers. You are cleaning Prabhupada's house. Hope that by Krsna's grace you will be celebrated and celebrating with all of your wonderful Iskcon family.
