I've translated parts of the Plaintiffs' Original Complaint into Swedish and put it on my website: www.tussilago.homestead.com/ After reading Monkey on a Stick and some testimonies, I knew that things were bad, but this was worse than my worst fears. The extent of the systematic torture of thousands of children is evil beyond compare. And the fact that the GBC was concealing what was going on, and didn't do a damn thing about the situation, only out of fear of loosing their own fat positions, income and power over the devotees, just shows that these men have no concience, no empathy and no human decency at all.

1) RE: Windle Turley lawsuit (pada)

Oh oh, some folks are now saying the Dallas suit is "pada's self interested lawsuit." Ummm, hello? It is not "our" lawsuit. If we die today, the complaints remain and the suit continues. We are in sympathy with the complaintant parties involved for various reasons. First of all, Srila Prabhupada said these children are great souls taking birth and they are in sum Krishna's children. This is a fact. And some of these children ended up being severerly abused, which is like abusing Krishna. And it is like abusing Srila Prabhupada, or did you already forget that he was poisoned? So if we do not address what evils happened to the first wave of great souls that came to ISKCON, forget the second wave, there will not be any.

And these children were advertised as Krishna's children for money making purposes, for collecting lakhs of rupees from the hindus for many years. Again, if they were mistreated, then it is an insult to Krishna. "Here, give us millions of dollars of money for Krishna's children." Then, the children are mistreated? What is that? And is that our fault? No. We were warning about these types of things for years, beware.

A society cannot abuse its children and simultaneously insult Krishna and then say, well lets forget about all these (silly?) "politics" (as some said to me with their best impish know-it-all smile). No, you have to rectify this insult first of all. If a society has children, and some of its children are being abused, then that society has to deal with how that is happening before it can "move on." We have also said this in effect for years and years and years and nothing substantial was done. Thus, this lawsuit is rather the result of the law of karma: (1) some GBCs evil actions, (2) other GBCs conspiring, and (3) some of the other members of the society de facto conspiring by not acting to clean up the GBC in a more timely fashion. This is not my personal agenda, I am rather like the unwanted pesky news reporter who is always asking, "Is is true Mr. Smith that your product is harmful to children"?

These are the main forces, all of which have nothing to do with us? What has happened now is somthing like: the bus with many pasengers has already crashed. So, we can only try to help some of the victims and make their injuries less severe. And notice, we were the main people trying to put our foot on the brakes of the runaway bus all along, while others were insulting us, calling us stupid politicians, if not stabbing and shooting at us to kill us, and they were stomping on the gas pedal. Again, that is not our doing? And again, does "trying to stop a runaway bus while being stabbed and shot at" sound like a program that is fun and in our own selfish interest? Ummm, like wake up!

We also know that there were extraordinarly evil conditions that the gurukulis met as children. These evil conditions were not taken care of. And as such, this will produce profound psychological reactions in abused children. This is a well recorded and documented fact. Thus, some of the ex-children have a negative attititude towards their church, as do similar child victims of these events in other cases according to numerous studies. Is this natural? Yes. Is this our doing? No. I do not think that such victims are bad, although the GBC likes to label its victims as such. Besides, if some of you think this lawsuit is itself bad, then why have you not got your own legal case done as you'd like it to be done? I have only asked people to do that for the past 20 years, so now what? Sour grapes, that is what it sounds like.

Srila Prabhupada already explains how people will develop this negativie feeling towards Krishna. He says that if we are not careful, the reputation of the ISKCON movement will be bad and the mass of people will NOT come to join us, and they will reject Krishna and His movement. That means, if the movement is not run properly ALL of the people on the planet will reject Srila Prabhupada and Krishna, not just a few of the ex-gurukulis. That means: abusive leaders will chase ALL of the people on the planet away and the people will reject Krishna consciousness. And that means, the mass of people are not really demons, they just cannot see the right presentation, and so they reject the false idea done in the name of religion.

Is this natural? Yes. Is this the same history that also occured in the Gaudiya Matha? Yes. Did the mass of public reject their bogus guru program? Yes. And was the mission set back severely? Yes. Is the GBC's big "advisor," Narayana Maharaja, saying that the people who made the post-1936 bogus gurus are his idea of acharyas? Yes. Did Narayana Maharaja say that the GBC are gurus as well? Yes. Did history repeat? Yes. Are we to blame? No.

So let us try to repair things as best we can, instead of blaming the idiot who was stepping on the bus' brakes? Let us point out that Srila Prabhupada wanted the children to get 8 hours of sleep and and a nap, and that was not done; that he did not want the children to be hit or beaten and that was not done; that he wanted varnasrama, i.e. rural communities with "in house" local schools, and that was not done, and so on. Let us defend his honor which will not be accomplished by tossing more tomatoes and empty beer cans at me. And let us point out that not only was he not listened to, he was poisoned for making suggestions how things should be run. When he said, let us make varnasrama, some said, ok time to poison him here. Why are you still pursuing me and why aren't you pursuing this in court? Now that you ask however, "What is pada's favorite self interested lawsuit," well, it is a wrongful death suit for the poisoning of Srila Prabhupada. That is my real self interested lawsuit. Any help out there?

2) LAWSUIT INEVITABLE

Now that the Turley lawsuit has been filed, I guess you might say that for the stubborn GBC, the point of no return has been passed. Not only will these hard-headed men not listen to any reason, they will go all out to eliminate anyone who dares to say "the emperor has no clothes!" That should surprise no one, since the same demoniac consciousness that dictates global manipulation, has firmly infiltrated ISKCON.

The only real sad thing in all this is that Srila Prabhupada's name will be dragged in the mud and that millions of persons who might ordinarly be interested in our cultural presentation will become even more suspicious of us and even less willing to listen to us. This, in my opinion, is the intent behind the consciousness that has dominated this movement since Post-disappearance, even if the ISKCON "leadership" pawns and agents of this consciousness do not know it. I am not happy to see this lawsuit filed, but I accept it as an inevitability. It is going to be a trial of fire for sincere devotees, but in the long run will result in much-needed "housecleaning".

I have included, below, an excerpt from a letter I wrote to the GBC on 8/31/97, specifically addressed to Virabahu dasa of Los Angeles. It is not meant to be an "I told you so", but merely to highlight the refusal of these people to be accountable, to take responsibility for the gross defects of our socieity, and to take proactive steps to correct them. They wait for a major crisis before they act, and with each crisis more trust is destroyed, more victims fall, more laxmi is "lost", more setbacks for the preaching effort and more blows to the "body" of Srila Prabhupada.

In this case, Virabahu's obstinate response to me was to order me not to contact him anymore, and he also stated that he "always thought I was a different person". I suppose he thought me to be an unthinking, blind follower. That, I imagine, is the highest aspiration these so-called leaders of ISKCON have for their innocent followers. Where Srila Prabhupada wanted "independently thoughtful and competent" disciples, they want instead, collectively thoughtless and stupid shleeple (sleeping sheep dressed like people).

From Letter dated 8/31/97 to GBC c/o Virabahu dasa: "You have also displeased Srila Prabhupada in many other was, too many to list here. But this next area is extremely important and I believe that it is a nasty time bomb waiting to explode. I call it Srila Prabhupada's revenge. When it does explode, mark my words, we will become scorned by many in mainstream society. Many of our friends will abandon us and many of us will be ashamed to wear dhoti, shaved head and tilak in public, and to be identified with ISKCON. Not only have you, our leaders, displeased Srila Prabhupada in this area, but also you have committed a great evil, have attempted to cover it up and have heaped great insult and embarrassment on the head of Srila Prabhupada as a result.

Judge for yourself if He's pleased. How else can I introduce the subject of the abuses of our children in your gurukulas? They were put in your care for safe keeping and proper training. You knew how much Srila Prabhupada valued the children, of whom he had high hopes. Yet, disregarding his instructions, you put perverts and sexual deviants in charge of them, pederasts who had themselves been molested for many years by the higher ups, then turned a blind eye and a deaf ear to their pleas for relief from their abusers.

Where was Pariksit maharaj, when Kali was beating Mother Cow and Father Bull? That's right. On the scene with his drawn sword ready to decapitate the miscreant! When the children were being abused, where were our GBC men? "Constantly traveling to see how the students are learning, giving advice for improving the temple standards."? Why has this been covered-up all these years? And why has there been no accounting? Responsibility means Accountability. We, the rank and file members of this society, are individually powerless to exact that accountability. You make the rules, and if you don't wish to speak with us lowly peons who can force your divine selves to do so? However, let me tell you what damage you have done.

His Holiness, Lokanatha Maharaja, in his most recent lecture here in Los Angeles, spoke about the fact that if we don't preserve our families and opt instead for divorce and remarriage, we damage the children, and in so doing, he said, "they will hate your Krsna".

I am sure that there are some among that group of molested gurukulis who hate Krsna. But one thing we can say for all of them is that almost to a man, they do not respect you as their leaders. You have betrayed their trust. Many of them have deep and lasting scars as a result. All you have to do is read the literature on child abuse to know the devastating consequences that result from such activities. To make matters worse, you have not demanded a full accounting. You have not dealt severely with the perpetrators and demanded justice be done according to the law of the land.

Instead, you have systematically covered up this matter, and have been lenient with the others of the "old boys club" who have been caught in the chain of this degradation. You have failed to protect Srila Prabhupada's most precious treasure, his children. And does that not fit hand in hand with your Society-wide institutionalized disrespect for women? You pay no more than lip service to the ideal of protecting our women and children, have kicked out many brahminically - inclined devotees, and have little or no regard for the cow-like ordinary devotees.

Women and children may be less intelligent according to sastra, but that does not make them 2nd class citizens. That means they must be protected. Anyone who exploits them on the belief that they are less intelligent is himself less intelligent and worse than a demon. In fact, in this age of Kali, everyone is less intelligent and that means both you and I are included: "manda sumanda matayoh manda bhagya hy upadrutah." How can women - and children - hating sannyasis, and other sexually frustrated persons, making a pretense of celibacy, manage our Movement consisting of so many women and children? Srila Prabhupada saw that this was impossible. He forbade it.

Let the sannyasis travel and preach. They were actually very attached to sex life and being denied the benefit of the householder asrama, they could only barely survive gross sexual misconduct by directing overt hatred to women and the children produced of sex life. Look how many of them returned to gross sex life. What a travesty! The temple presidents must manage. Srila Prabhupada said it. They need a cohesive unit of men and women for the temples to be successful. Children are a necessary and inevitable part of the equation. And is it not the grhasta asrama that maintains the other three? We have it completely backwards. Here it is the sannyasis that have the money and live a life of luxury and ease instead of one of renunciation.

Does this please Srila Prabhupada? That is the corruption of the sannyasa asrama. Because you deviated, all these problems have resulted. You have displeased Srila Prabhupada. Recently, in Florida, a group of Sannyasis, hearing the complaints of the abused children agreed to give them $150,000 in compensation. (How is it possible for sannyasis, who have no connection with money to come up with this sum? My guess is that they are not real sannyasis, but merely wealthy bachelors in a peculiar dress). Do you suppose these boys and girls want money? How crass! They want justice! Srila Prabhupada has taught "atmavan manyate jagat", the fool thinks everyone is like him. Because these men are motivated by money, they think everyone else is. Not so. These children are now young adults.

They are bright, intelligent and have a chip on their shoulder. They know that the law is on their side. They know that you have been criminal. Your feeble attempts to buy them off will not work. It is only a matter of time before the laws of nature take their course and you and the other leaders of this International Society for Child Molesting have your hands full with several huge class-action lawsuits brought against you by these children. They will own you. All the world will know of this scandal and you will be greatly disrespected in all circles. Your celibate priests will be laughed at as pretenders and your sannyasis as simply cheats. I am firmly convinced that this is going to be the next major challenge that Srila Prabhupada will bring upon you.

Here's what I suggest you do: Begin your own thorough investigation now. Interview all the students who have been abused. Get names, dates, places, times, and exact details. Have the perpetrators promptly arrested and begin full-scale prosecution of all offenders. In short, a full accounting must be given and justice must be done. If you do not do so voluntarily, you will be forced to do so involuntarily. In the past, you have refrained from disciplining your peers because they knew too much, could spill the beans on you too, and toppling them could mean that your own followers might question your purity. (Was this not the reason why Hansadutta was allowed to remain in power during his North American reign of terror, and why Bhavananda continues to be sheltered by you?) You must bring these men to justice.

That will restore faith in the leadership and prove that you are ready and willing to act on the important issues. It will prove that you are champions of truth and the protector of the women and children as well. Why are you so keen to protect criminals? If you do not do this, I have do doubt that there will be hell to pay, and it will take this Society many years to recover from the scandal. Do not spare anyone. You are so quick to ex-communicate and banish anyone who speaks a contrary opinion, (even if they are correct, or merely fulfilling their brahminical duty to speak up), but slow to see that justice is done and wrongs righted. That is to your eternal shame."

My Dear Mohanananda,

Please accept my blessings. I beg to acknowledge your letter dated November 22, 1972, and I have noted the contents with great care. I am very, very glad to hear of your desire to return to Gurukula school and apply yourself to developing that place. I am so glad to hear this good news. Only a few weeks back I had got a letter from Satsvarupa wherein he has informed me that Stoka Krishna has left Dallas and that he must go there to take charge himself. But he is sannyasi and he should travel and preach, and he has not much taste for watching after so many things. So I had suggested him to get a full-time manager, some grhastha, nice husband and wife together, to manage the things, and that he shall expect that such person will stay tightly and develop it and make that his life work.

It is the most important preaching work, to train our children in Krishna Consciousness education of life. And I think that you are just the right man to do it. Krishna has given you the right idea, just see! I was also at Dallas school last summer and I was very much impressed with these children, how nicely they are becoming preachers and kirtana men and girls. If we can develop properly, one day they will turn the world by their preaching. Let the small children from all good families in your country come to our Gurukula school and take education from us. They may be certain their children will get the real knowledge which will create the best citizens of brahminical type, clean, honest, law-abiding, healthy, industrious, all good qualities they will have.

Now I think Krishna has inspired you in this way, and every facility is there, you are the pioneer in Dallas and you know how to do everything nicely, that I know, so now you go there immediately after consulting with Satsvarupa and Karandhara and Madhudvisa and the others, take their advice and do the needful. If you become Head Master of the Gurukula that is more important than going to South America. This is the most important post in pushing on this movement, practically, because you shall create our preachers of the future, many, many of them. That will be your great credit and contribution. May Krishna give you His all blessings more and more for this task.

If you still like to contact Hanuman, he is having some difficulty with the governments in these places, but I have just got on letter from him the following address: c.o Agencia Wallis C. A. Edificio Karam, Avenida Urdmeta, P. O. Box 1826, Caracas, Venezuela. But I think it is better if he takes some brahmacaris and sannyasis with him for travelling in such difficult and dangerous places. You are manager with best experience, and besides you have got wife and child to protect, so it will be very much pleasing to me if you shall take up the big work of Gurukula school and develop it very nicely. The children should be trained in early rising, attending mangal arati, some elementary education: arithmetic, alphabet, some of our books, like that. They should go to bed by 8 p.m. and rise by 4 a.m. for mangal arati, getting 8 hours sleep. If they take 8 hours sleep, they will not fall asleep during arati. When they get up they should wash with a little warm water, at least three times wash face. They may sleep one hour in the afternoon and there is no harm. Encourage them to chant as much japa as possible, but there is no question of force or punishment. If there is need you may shake your finger at them but never physical punishment is allowed.
