I think readers should be made aware of at least one of the reasons why Puru is with the Narayan Maharaj sanga. He has alot of clout there. He is a person who was not able to get a position with the gbc but was able to get a position in Narayan Maharaj's sanga. And Puru uses his position as a "senior devotee" to dictate to other devotees, his peers and younger devotees what they should and should not be doing. A very unpleasant clout indeed. But Narayan Maharaj feeds his ego and he has position so he is happy.

[PADA: Thanks for the update. Yes, Puru has always been a major promoter of the GBC's bogus guru project all along. And now he is equally vociferous in promoting the Gaudiya Matha and glorifying guys like Kirtanananda. Even two years ago he was still arguing that we need to have people like Tamal's photos on the altars, nevermind that OBL Kapoor said that offering bhogha to these conditioned souls makes it poison that will make people sick, as we have seen. And now Sanat and Mukunda have revealed that they are also aligned with these Puru/ Gaudiya Matha/ Kirtanananda folks as well.

So it is hard to imagine that some people are still promoting homosexual pedophiles like Kirtanananda to be worshipped like Jesus, as the Puru/ Mukunda/ Sanat team are doing, and worse, apparently with the de facto blessings of Narayana Maharaja and others from the Gaudiya Matha, who have used this Puru to get Kirtanananda's building to use for their programs.

So we think this is equal to some form of Satanic takeover. Worship of Kirtanananda, whom the GBC said is like Jesus in their 1986 BTG, is still going on and they are compromised with this agenda. As such we have been advised by a Christian brother to have the Christians pray for an exorcism for some of these people. Good idea? As an odd coincidence we have an old friend who is a Christian from our youth who works in Houghton, in Allegany county, not far from Angelica, and we have sort of been apprising him of these situations over the years. He has also noted that we were right about the molester pooja since this has taken the shape of a lawsuit.

And Chaturbahu confirms that even the Christians are saintly when compared to Puru/ Sanat/ Gaudiya Matha promoters of these "homosexuals as gurus" who should be worshipped like Jesus? And Sanat also said recently that he agrees with Narayana Maharaja that the molested children are just getting their karma, as if the Puru/ Sanat and Narayana Maharaja folks are the authorized agents of Yama to encourage and support a child molester worship cult? By their argument, rape, robbing banks, murder, etc. are all bona fide actions since the victims are just getting their karma? Fortunately, the people of the USA are Christians and they do not buy this 'its your bad karma' rubbish arguement, rather they know that Puru/ Narayan Maharaja/ Sanat types are guilty of promoting this homosexual pooja, and as such they are guilty parties, and in sum they are not karmic agents of Yama, the Yamaduttas, despite their self advertising to be such.

So if these folks want to be aligned with Puru, who says that homosexual pedophiles are guru tattva (and they are equal to Jesus) then so be it. We will try to get an exorcism going, as Chaturbahu says, even the Christians are vastly more potent spiritually than these guys.

You have done excellent work in reproducing them, and we hope that those who want these first editions for their own reading will be able to get a copy from yourself. I have to say that personally the Jayadvaita "new edition" of TLC is the worst hatchet job of editing that has ever occured on the planet, it makes a person literally cry, and we were in ecstacy to see the original from yourself. We know that because of your costs of copying you will not make any money, rather this is an attempt to get a few limited copies of the original eidtions to a few devotees. I gave the copy of the Bhagavad Gita to a devotee who wanted one for the past 2 years and they were almost crying reading it in ecstacy. Thanks prabhu!]

SB: I went to Chakra and noticed that the GBC really don't think to highly of other GBC. Govinda Datt here in LA said that he does not know what to tell a new devotee what to do when he was asked about what Guru to accept. Many new devotees refuse to get initiated because the Guru's keep falling down.

2) RE OFFICIATING ACHARYAS

Dear PADA,

Locananda dasa, in his "Officiating Acaryas," writes the following:

"The departed vaisnava acarya...though he may be transcendentally present to offer his unlimited blessings ...is not considered to be accepting new disciples in the formal sense. Because the process of diksa includes the formalities of initiation, he cannot be properly referred to as the diksa guru of disciples formally initiated after his physical departure.

Excuse me, Locanananda prabhu, but I respectfully disagree. The "formalities of initiation" were mostly conducted by priests even when Srila Prabhupada was "physically" present, and BEFORE he "departed" in 1977 Srila Prabhupada established rtviks to perform all the "angas," except, of course, transmitting divya-jnanam.

For Srila Prabhupada (or Lord Jesus Christ) it is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT whether or not he is "on the planet" when enacting this most essential aspect of initiation. You wrote, "The process of diksa includes the formalities of initiation." Prabhu, do you know what the word "formality" means? Srila Prabhupada says "real" initiation is "accepting the conclusion," "following," "your determination," etc.

How many who underwent the "formalities of initiation" are or were accepting Srila Prabhupada as guru, what to speak of being his disciple? History has borne out that "ulterior motives" propelled many a banana into the fire while "Swaha" was being chanted.

You then attempted to substantiate your theory with the same innapropriate "Vaisnava Tradition" argument routinely employed by those averse to accepting Srila Prabhupada as "The Acarya"--i.e. the "Tradition Setter." Hello? WHATEVER SRILA PRABHUPADA DOES "IS" VAISNAVA TRADITION, prabhu. Why are you trying to "justify" him?

Srila Prabhupada is not just offering "unlimited blessings." He is DIRECTLY PRESENT, LEADING THE SANKIRTANA MOVEMENT IN A WAR AGAINST MAYA FOR THE NEXT 10,000 YEARS. We shall NEVER be "The Guru." By accepting this simple point (and Chanting Hare Krsna) everything becomes crystal clear. Unfortunately, our disease is that, instead of glorifying the worthy person, we want to be special. Then Maya tells us, "Oh, the guru is gone, who will lead everyone?" Then we're finished. Please correct me if I said somewthing wrong.

3) KNOWN BY FRUITS

"Ultimately, however, the greatest proof of the bonafidity of Srila Prabhupada's successor acaryas is their new disciples. It is said, phalena pariciyate: One is recognized by the results of his actions ....A spiritual master is recognized as an actual guru when it is seen that he has changed the character of his disciples.

As a tree is known by the fruit it produces, so we can know for certain that the fruit of our acaryas' preaching has unquestionably been grown on the tree of Lord Caitanya. The new devotees who are now joining the International Society for Krishna Consciousness bear every semblance of being true Gaudiya Vaisnavas. In fact, judging by the results they are achieving in the fields of book distribution, temple worship, etc., they are even surpassing the previous generation of devotees. Undoubtedly this is only possible through the causeless mercy of Srila Prabhupada who, being greatly pleased, is continuing to shower his unlimited blessings upon the worldwide members of his ISKCON family."

This complete portion excerpted above from Tamals 1984 book Servant of the Servant, was subsequently and mysteriously deleted in the 1991 reprint edition. One should note that out of the eleven so called "successor acaryas," seven have fallen down. The remaining four are Tamal, Hridayananda, Satsvarupa, and Jayapataka.

Dear devotees,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

I'm so glad that the call for input on when a child leaves his body has brought up so many wonderful points, and feel just warm all over to be in your intelligent and philosophically astute company which displays the thoughtful and natural soft-heartedness of true Vaisnavas, so well-balanced, all around. I submitted the later posts to the other forum, both as, hopefully, a solace to the grieving devotee, and also for the benefit of the devotee community at large.

She did say the philosophy of course really helps, but still I was hesitant about posting any more quotes, and they might seem too removed from her situation. The story about the father who lost his gurukula-age boy, then drifted away, was very moving.

While I am at it, I also want to thank you, Puranjana prabhu, for your patient and gentlemanly exchange with me, and I was most uplifted by hearing you were encouraged by any words coming from the little likes of me, and also by your invitation for bhajan, which I hope to be able to take advantage of when I am down for Gaura Purnima. These yearnings for substantial possibilities of such association help keep me going in my exile.

Every Saturday night I think of the New York Harinam with Locanananda in lead or in tow, and look forward to more descriptions of this. I also love to think of Visoka "nerding" out at his keyboard, as he once put it, and Mahaksa strummin' his gitar and singin' his songs, and Makanchora and company gathering on Sundays for sublime kirtans and sharing, and Vaisnava creating wonderful things in his kitchen late at night, and all the other activities which are hinted at in this forum. These are the juice, nectar for the ears and the heart and the soul. They make it all graphically tangible to me, and continue to whet my spiritual appetite. I only wish I was more greedy for these tales.
