1) NEWSBITES
* PADA's new phone number is 707-477-4102. OK, it is a cell phone. I'll have it on and with me all day. That means -- please make your "Monday to Friday" calls short since this is more expensive. I've got lots of 'weekend' minutes 'free all over California,' but other calls will be 'long distance' and costing more. So, please have mercy and try to keep your calls brief and to the point, but if you want to talk longer please call on Saturday or Sunday. Sorry to those of you have had troubles getting us lately, hope this will fix things.
* One local woman we are currently working with says she is very glad she met us and that she found out about Krishna consciousness. "It makes perfect sense," she says. She also said she felt suicidal before hand. Last week we asked her to take one book from our bookshelf and read it and so she selected "The Nectar Of Devotion." Good choice!
* PADA EDITORIAL ON THE BOMBING. At least if we are in a plane that is about to crash, or in a building that is about to burn down and so on, we at least know what to do. This is an incredible and perhaps unimaginably powerful asset for the devotees: we can chant the holy names of the Lord! We are perhaps taking this amazing asset a little bit for granted: what we know, i.e. that Krishna is God and He can give us shelter? At least I am guilty of that. Jai Srila Prabhupada and Hare Krishna! There is simply NO other CURE or even slight RELIEF for the material disease than to take shelter of the pure devotee Srila Prabhupada and his Lord of the universe!
It also seems that the scope of our material disease can also be of different sizes, for example either a huge ocean of grief, or the amount of water found in the footprint of a calf. It all depends on our own desire to be Krishna conscious. Right now the "material ocean" for me has been reduced. Perhaps at this point for me it is now only say, medium lake sized. Agreed, there are still a few sharks, cobras, a few piranhas, and one or two crocodiles in there! And the rowboat I've got to cross the lake in is, well a bit leaky. But hey, the water is very much more calm in this lake and besides, this is a lot better than being in the middle of a typhoon in the ocean without even a life jacket, my former position!
It also seems that right after the bombing there was a whole lot of interest in: God. All kinds of different priests were praying on TV. "People in distress take shelter of God." That is unfortunate but it does seem true. One thing that is also of interest is that there was a big plane crash (Egypt Air was it?) a while ago where the pilot was physically kicked out and the co-pilot forced the plane into a dive into the ocean near New Foundland, Canada. All died. Umm, these guys like to commit suicide with lots of other non-compliant folks in their company? And on the black box audio tape this suicidal co-pilot was saying, "Allah is great." Umm, ya think? Well yes He is. And the punishment the co-pilot will get is for murdering 120 people, not his "going to heaven to have seven female handmaids" as he thought was going to happen. So this is fanaticism, religion without philosophy, "we are going down to hell and we are taking all of you with us."
Even other criminals do this, they kill 20 people, then shoot themselves. They are going to die anyway, and they know it, but they want many others to die and suffer as well. Very sinful. In any case, this has always been around. Some of the Vikings used to have warriors who would go "beserker" and they would chop up children and so on, taking out everyone they could without mercy and without even thinking. The Pandava's children were attacked in the same way. So, this is material disease, we want to make others die or suffer because we are not going to simply surrender to Krishna and be happy. Better to simplify our life and get away from all this mad material attachment, which is the cause of so many sinful actions. A special on TV was secretly filmed by an Afghan lady, it showed how Taliban soliders killed a mother and then raped her small girls, people getting skinned alive and so on. "A holy war"? Ya think?
* THANKS! to new pada subscribers in Germany and one from the USA.
* GOOD PROGRESS on the poison issue coincides with the good progress of making new disciples of Srila Prabhupada in Vrindavana, India. So, good progress all round! And we have been making progress there also with the poison issue as well, so it all seems to be coming together?
* SANAT (Angelica) Mukunda (Oldham) are still supporting their view that George Bush and the top inner core USA government leaders are using nukes to bomb their own USA people, which they say is really what recently caused the WTC deaths in New York. Thus: making their view that the USA leaders are worse than Hitler (who at least did not bomb his own countrymen). Simultaneously, they say they are "trying to restore Srila Prabhupada's popularity"? Well, saying that Srila Prabhupada de facto supports the idea that the USA leaders are really mass murderers and demons, who are killing their own people, is -- not popular at all? Where is their idea popular? OK, this is also what the Taliban are saying?
In fact, recent USA polls show that George Bush has got nearly ninety percent support from ALL of the USA's citizens. Even at UC Berkeley, they had a pro-GW Bush rally, unheard of in the 60s. We also saw a bunch of different "rallies" in San Francisco today, and oddly not one person was out there agreeing with "the popular view" of Sanat that "George Bush, the USA government and the CIA did it." To sum, the Sanat view has not even got one-half percent support from the USA citizens, or even one person's support that we could see at these rallies? Their idea is not at all "popular." And to target their view as 'Srila Prabhupada's' will make him the most unpopular person in the USA. That seems to be their real plan?
No, Srila Prabhupada never told us to go out in public and say that the USA leaders are demons who bomb their own citizens? Rather Srila Prabhupada spent all kinds of his life energy, indeed during his whole life, trying to get Krishna consciousness going -- in America? All because he said he liked America and the Americans? Why are they are trying to say: he hated the place and/or its leaders? This is false and severely misrepresents Srila Prabhupada. And so we are confident that the other folks, and especially the Angelicans, will agree that Sanat/ Mukunda are bogus, more so when we apprise them that Sanat's former view is that homosexuals are fit to be worshipped like Jesus. And so his judgement has always been considered as dubious by all bona fide religionists. Also "Kick On Their Faces," the title of Sanat's newsletter, has new meaning. He was using a hydraulic post hole digger and it jumped up and bashed him in the face, severely injuring him - in the face. We do not wish harm to anyone, but Krishna Himself does not like people who want to "kick on the face" of the vaishavas.
* Narayana Maharaja is finished, so says many of pada's readers, now that he has officially come out and said that Srila Prabhupada system of management (a GBC) and worship of the pure devotee (i.e. Srila Prabhupada) is bogus. We all know NM has sympathized with worship of the deviants from both 1936 and 1977 and he indeed was their apologist. Worse, he has rubber stamped "guru" systems that worship homosexuals....
* MAYESHVARA Dasa is still pouding the drum that the GBC gurus are "following the tradition" -- of homosexual pedophile worship? A Gaudiya Matha guru's follower also came to Alachua recently and said the same thing, the ritvik system is bogus and "not in the tradition." And yet all these people have said the (homosexual pedophile) GBC lineage -- are gurus? For starters, none of these people has ever proven their orginal 1977 point: the GBC said that eleven gurus were "appointed." And Mayesvara dasa, Puri Maharaja, Narayana Maharaja, Gaura Govinda Maharaja, Sridhara Maharaja and so on, they all supported that these eleven guys were gurus. And now it seems, and many people feel, and the momentum is increasing, the eleven's core groups poisoned Srila Prabhupada? What tradition is Mayeshvara supporting? None of these people has also replied point for point to our writings? Harinama dasa refuted Mayeshvara's paper and he never replies? And Mayeshvara is friendly with the "gurus" who reinstated a known homosexual pedophile to be worshipped as guru -- as good as God? What is his "tradition"? Mayesvara has supported the people who vociferously and violently, and indeed murderously defended the worship of homosexual pedophiles? Mayeshvara seems to be blisffuly oblivious of the history of his GBC's gurus? Homosexuals, pedophiles, murderers, and it seems, poisoners? What is the "tradition" of this type of worship? The good news is that some of Mayeshvara's traditional (?) gurus are using condoms so they are maybe not spreading AIDS all over the place. Wunnaful. We also find that sometimes some of these folks will say, the guru must be pure, so why have they supported that the GBC are or were or could have been gurus? thanks pd

2) Subject: GBC open letter dated September 27, 2001 re The November 14th Commission
September 27, 2001
An Open Letter to the ISKCON GBC
Dear Chairperson Ramai Swami and members of the ISKCON
GBC:
Please accept my humble obeisances. All Glories to His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta
Swami Prabhupada. Hare Krishna.
On March 2, 2000, the ISKCON GBC Body resolved that "10. The GBC Body accepts the resignation from the GBC Body of His Grace Naveen Krishna Das. The GBC Body requests Naveen Krishna Das to give careful and dispassionate consideration to the case presented in the book Not That I Am Poisoned, and, after doing so, to enter into discussion with the Executive Committee for a resolution of this and any related issues."
As you may recall, my resignation as a GBC member revolved around troubling questions attending the disappearance of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada on November 14, 1977. By early 2000, I had come to see that, at the very least, these issues deserved further investigation and study. In taking the March 2nd resolution to heart, I could not just close my eyes to disturbing evidence and accept the conclusions contained in the book 'Not That I Am Poisoned,' which appeared to have many shortcomings and discrepancies. I then discovered that so many of my God brothers and God sisters thought and felt as I did. It also became painfully clear that a comprehensive, professional and dispassionate methodology was sorely needed if this issue was ever to be properly dealt with.
Accordingly, and as a result of this GBC directive, The November 14th Commission was formed. Through this organization, all of us who share similar concerns can now "give careful and dispassionate consideration to the case presented in the book Not That I Am Poisoned" -- after which process I will then beg to "enter into discussion with the Executive Committee for a resolution" of this issue, as was requested.
The official announcement of the formation of The November 14th Commission is attached along with various introduction letters.
Thank you for your understanding.
Naveen Krishna Das
====================================
Announcing the formation of The November 14th Commission:
Please accept our humble obeisances. All Glories to His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta
Swami Prabhupada.
It is with heavy heart and sober mind that the undersigned beg to announce the formation of The November 14th Commission, whose mission is to research, investigate, study, document, preserve, honor and glorify the life and times of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Founder/Acarya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, including the circumstances surrounding his disappearance from this world on November 14, 1977, for the benefit of all.
If not by clear consensus then certainly by sheer number, so many disciples of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada feel spiritually impelled to understand the totality of circumstances surrounding his disappearance from this world. The need to investigate those times is painfully obvious to those of us who have heard Srila Prabhupada's own voice in those final days. Unanswered questions continue to linger. And many devotees have yet to be heard.
Clearly, for the sake of his Mission, the issues surrounding his disappearance need resolution and closure. Be assured that the unequivocal intention of this Commission is to pursue a fair and comprehensive investigation in a thoroughly professional manner. We will seek honest answers to straightforward questions. All evidence obtained will be professionally documented and evaluated. This Commission has absolutely no agenda other than to fully investigate and preserve the facts. In turn, those facts will guide all of us further.
We beg the favor and cooperation of all. We assure that those providing information will be treated with respect and that requests for confidentiality will be honored. We humbly ask for your understanding, patience and support. Together we must do the needful.
We also want to take this opportunity to announce the formation of a Special
Liaison and Mediation Panel. Composed of Ambarisa prabhu, Gunagrahi Goswami,
Rasaraj prabhu and Sesa prabhu, the members of this advisory Panel have agreed
to make themselves available in order to facilitate communication and to mediate
disputes, should any arise during the investigation, between the GBC and The November
14th Commission. In order to protect the reputation of Srila Prabhupada and his
ISKCON, it is fitting that, to the extent possible, confrontation and confusion
be avoided on this sensitive issue. In addition, Balavanta prabhu has offered
to advise and assist the Commission as may be requested from time to time.
Anyone, anywhere, who has any information, experience
or knowledge to share on this topic is respectfully asked to contact a Commissioner
listed below.
Thank you.

Letters of introduction from members of the Liaison
and Mediation Panel
(alphabetically presented):
1. Ambarisa prabhu: To Whom it may concern: As an addendum to the statement of position by Sesa prabhu, I would like to state the nature of my participation in the November 14th Commission. I very much appreciate the participation of Sesa prabhu, as I feel relation to the present members of the GBC is vital to a constructive outcome, regardless of the results.
As a disciple of Srila Prabhupada, I have to take with gravity, the statements of my Guru Maharaj. As Srila Prabhupada has stated three times in one day that he has been poisoned by someone, I have to hear these words with the utmost seriousness. To dismiss these statements as trivial or lacking authenticity is extremely offensive and cruel.
As such, I am not satisfied with the results of any of the investigations or reports issued so far. I do not believe that Balavanta prabhu was given adequate facility to complete his investigation. He has stated as much himself. Although there are some members of our society who believe this subject is better forgotten, I do not believe it can or should be until a full and proper investigation has been carried out.
We may never know the entire truth behind Srila Prabhupada's final pastimes. However, as the events surrounding these pastimes effect profoundly the dynamics of Srila Prabhupada's legacy and enduring society, I support Naveen Krishna prabhu and the newly formed November 14th Commission, in their dedicated efforts to set the record straight.
My participation is purely for honesty, fairness and justice. My role is to
try, in my humble way, to keep an investigation from becoming a trial. The process
needs to be a professional and systematic gathering of facts. Out of our love
for Srila Prabhupada, I feel we need to put to rest, as much as possible, the
lingering questions which are residing in the minds of many of our Godbrothers
and Godsisters. We also need to create an accurate historical record. To do less
would be negligent and indifferent. Your servant, Ambarisa dasa
2. Gunagrahi Goswami: I recently became aware that, by the desire of an increasing number of devotees, a commission has been formed to more fully investigate the events surrounding the passing of His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada from this world. I have been asked to act as an impartial liaison between this November 14th Commission and the Iskcon devotees in general, and I have agreed to do so.
We have all seen how much our movement, its members, and all those that have been involved in our society's volatile and controversial issues have suffered because of offenses and mistakes we have made in our dealings. Thus, as a liaison, I would like to wholeheartedly try to assure that fairness, thoroughness, objectivity, and proper etiquette surround this important undertaking. Your servant, Gunagrahi das Goswami
3. Sesa prabhu:
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Earlier this year I was approach by Naveen Krishna Prabhu concerning his attempt
to response to the GBC request that he review their resolutions
concerning the alleged poisoning of Srila Prabhupada. As his godbrother
and friend, I had a desire to help him. As an individual I had to consider how
I could best help him. As an individual I have long advocated the need for established
process and procedures for dealing with the many serious issues which challenge
ISKCON. In the past I have actively worked to establish process and procedure
in such difficult areas as ISKCON Child Protection Office cases, and in GBC dealings
with problems effecting the temples in India. Thus, I felt the best way I could
help Naveen Krishna Prabhu would be to serve as a neutral facilitator of whatever
process he chose to employ in his response to the GBC.
I conceived of my role as a referee. A neutral party to advocate the necessity of process and procedure, to review and evaluate the process and procedures established in this endeavor to insure objectivity, to act as a sounding board for ideas, to assist in overcoming obstacles to the process by facilitating communication, and to opine on perceptions of the openness and fairness of the procedure.
My offer of help was welcomed by Naveen Krishna Prabhu, and thus my role in this matter shall be as outlined above. If anyone has any questions about my participation in this matter, I welcome your inquiries. Sesa das
Other Correspondence (alphabetically presented):
1. Balavanta prabhu: I am agreeable to offer the November 14th Commission such advise and assistance as may be requested from time to time. Your servant, Balavanta das
2. Gupta prabhu: To the ISKCON GBC: Please accept my obeisances. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada. Clearly, the standard to determine whether an investigation ought to be conducted into the unexplained circumstances surrounding Srila Prabhupada's disappearance should be fully weighted towards uncovering the full truth at the risk of any perceived inconvenience.
Yet, after reviewing the work already done on this issue, including Someone Has Poisoned Me, Balavanta's Report to the GBC and Not That I Am Poisoned, it is my opinion that a complete investigation into this matter has not yet been accomplished. In fact, not only have the preliminary research and reports generated more questions than provided answers, in addition, troubling questions regarding the forensic work remain unresolved.
Accordingly, I fully support the effort being initiated by the November 14th Commission to undertake a professional, objective and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding Srila Prabhupada's disappearance. Moreover, I encourage all -- especially those with direct knowledge of Srila Prabhupada's final pastimes -- to fully cooperate in this investigation. All effort should be made to bring this matter to closure during the lifetime of those contemporary to Srila Prabhupada. His legacy deserves nothing less. With regards, Gupta das
3. Dhira Govinda prabhu:
September 16, 2001 Dear Maharajas and Prabhus, Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I have agreed to participate in the November
14th Commission because of a conviction that it is vital to the well-being of
Srila Prabhupada's movement that we resolve the issue of his disappearance pastime.
Lacking such resolution, doubts about the matter will fester and impede the healthy
progress of the sankirtana movement. Based on the documentation I've seen till
now, I do not believe that the issue has been satisfactorily concluded. I am open
to speak with anyone who would like to persuade me that an existing investigative
report on the matter suitably addresses this topic. If convinced I will withdraw
my participation in the November 14th Commission. Till then, I am committed to
work with the Commission members to ensure that an honorable and professional
investigation is conducted. Thank you for your attention in this matter. Hare
Krsna. Your servant, Dhira Govinda dasa

3) MAHESH WRITES
720919SB.LA Lectures. So the idea is that there is no food problem. As the mother earth said to King Prthu that "I am restricting," so the more you become sinful, the food supply will be stopped. This is the law of nature. At the end there will be no foodgrains, at the end of Kali-yuga. That is stated in the Srimad-Bhagavatam. There will be no foodgrain, no fruits, no milk, no sugar. You have to live on flesh and blood. At that time, being hungry, you will kill your own children and eat flesh and blood.
That day is waiting. So this is the civilization. Most heinous civilization. It can only be saved by spreading this Krsna consciousness movement. Otherwise there is no way.
750406CC.MAY Lectures. Unless one is very expert in killing animals, he's not bereft from Krsna consciousness. That means one who is very expert in killing, he cannot understand. Therefore Christ also said, "Thou shall not kill," the first business. Nobody will be able if one is a killer of animal, small or big, ultimately killer of his own children, killer of his own self. The killing process is so nice that it goes up to the point of killing one's children.
That is now happening. Killing business has so expanded that they are killing their own children. Just see the influence of Kali-yuga. The children, they take shelter of the father and mother, thinking very safe. Now, in this Kali-yuga, even there is no safety under the care of father and mother. Just see how this material civilization is progressing. Very, very dangerous. Kalau nasta-drsam. Therefore that Bhagavata verse is there, krsne sva-dhamopagate/ dharma-jnanadibhih (saha)/ kalau nasta-drsam (esa)/ puranarko 'dhunoditah/ very, very abominable condition in this age of Kali. Very, very. It is the beginning of Kali. Now we have to pass through 427,000's of years.
Kali-yuga will make progress in that way. And people are now practicing eating their children, and at the end of Kali there will be no food available. They'll have to eat the children just like the snakes do. The snake eat their own children. There are many animals--they eat their own children.
N98:711120LE.DEL classes "Devotional service of the Lord that ignores the authorized Vedic literatures like the Upanisads, Puranas and Narada-pancaratra is simply an unnecessary disturbance in society." Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu/ 1.2.1011.2.101]. Vidhi, a regulative principle. Just like Krsna says that yesam anta-gatam papam, that what are the papas, sinful life? The sastra says, striyah suna pana dyuta yatra papas catur-vidhah. These four things are the four pillars of sinful life. What are these? Avaida stri-sanga: womanly connection which is illegitimate. You cannot have any connection with woman without being married. That is Vedic instruction. Otherwise, what is the difference between animal and man? There is no marriage in the animal kingdom.
But in the human society, never mind whether it is in India or Russia or China, there is marriage system in the human society, maybe methods may be different. Therefore, womanly connection, man and woman living together without marital connection, that is papa, sinful life. That is the injunction of the sastra. Similarly, striyah suna. Suna means unnecessarily killing the animals. Just like slaughterhouse. You cannot maintain slaughterhouse in the human society and at the same time you want peace. It is not possible. Every living entity is son of God. You cannot kill even an ant, then you dissatisfy God. Take for example just like a gentleman has got five sons, one of them is useless, doing nothing. But if the expert son says, "My dear father, your this son is useless. Let us kill him and eat," cannibal. Will the father agree, "Oh, yes, yes, this son is useless. You can kill and eat"? Time will come in this Kali-yuga when actually people will become what is called man-eater. Still there are existence man-eaters in Africa. So the human society is coming to that position. Like animal, they will eat their own sons and daughters. So therefore this practice, unnecessarily killing animal, is one of the pillar of sinful life.
730509mw.la Conversations. Krsna-Kanti: As the Kali-yuga advances, the human beings will eat their children too. Srila Prabhupada? Prabhupada: Yes, yes. Just like in the last war, they ate stool, their own stool, out of hunger. So when there will be no foodstuff, they will kill their own children. Already they are killing, abortion. Not only abortion, children grows... By surgical instrument, they kill and they take out the child... They are already killing.
