Dear Maharajas and Prabhus, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Just a short update to let you know that work continues on many different fronts at many different levels. Several independently managed and funded groups of individuals are working on different fronts. As they are able to and desire to release information we will connect you to this information whenever possible, for your further understanding regarding the circumstances surrounding the physical departure of our beloved Srila Prabhupada. Hoping this meets you well and I remain your unworthy servant.

WW III update

Dear Puranjana prabhu I wonder would it be possible to publish the following, passed on to me by a devotee:

"Actually I remember years ago, in the ‘70’s, Prabhupada said we were going to have WW III and should go out on Harinama to try to stop it, so all the temples went out to try to stop it. Anyway, we went out chanting and the war did not happen. Prabhupada said we stopped it! And there was a time before that too, where he said there would be WW III and to go out on Harinama to stop it, and we did, and it was stopped."

[PADA: No question about it, Krishna consciousness has saved the world from so many calamities. And it has had many side effects, such as that many folks are becomming vegetarians, photos of deities are being shown at karmi music festivals, and so on.]

LOS ANGELES HARINAMA

Hare Krsna, all glories to Srila Prabhupada. Yesterday 12-22-01, some of the LA Prabhupadanugas (Yasodanandana Prabhu, Vadiraja Prabhu, bhakta Peter, Bharata Prabhu, myself and my daughter Radharani (15) and Yasoda's son Pradyumna (10 or 11) and Vadiraja's son Vidu (6 or7) went on hari nama on Hollywood blvd. Even though we had a small party it was ecstatic non-the-less. We chanted in front of the Chinese theater to the delight of many tourists. Some tourists wanted their pictures taken with us and we gladly obliged. We also chanted in front of the new Kodak theater, the new home of the academy awards. It is a very large plaza with many shopping malls. Lots of tourists and shoppers and a very large sidewalk which is perfect for the chanting of the holy name.

Up and down the blvd we chanted while a few suffering souls even joined in the chanting and followed us a while. Most people seemed pleased to see us. There will be a Prabhupadanuga meeting at Bhakta Jim's place on Watseka ave near the LA Temple on January 2 or 3. everyone is welcome.

1) BERKELEY FEST

Hare Krsna prabhus!

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! And all glories to Sri Sri Radha Gokulananda, Sri Jagannath, Subhadra and Balaram, and SRi Sri Gaura Nitai!

The Hare Krsna Youth of Berkeley are putting on their annual New Year's Eve Festival, previous such events of which I have heard many glowing reports about. Their flyers advertise Free Love Feasts, Mantra Rock Concert, Chanting, Dancing, Drama, Harinama, Book Fair, Multimedia. You can view their very artistic ad cards in the photo section, in the album entitled Hare Krsna Youth New Year Fest.

I have been to other events put on by these youth, and very first class they are. I think I already mentioned how they put on a Srila Prabhupada evening every Monday night, followed by a feast they themselves cook. I am so impressed with these young people, who are so centered on Srila Prabhupada, and in their personal dealings with devotees are truly exemplery, displaying all good qualities of a devotee, including humor, friendliness, enthusiasm, and most of all humility.

I would also like to add that the Berkeley Temple, New Jagannath Puri, though they are even more "understaffed" than ever, due to some going to India, have expanded their programs of regular Deity worship and Prabhupada puja, regular morning and evening programs, as well as Sunday feast and festivals for hundreds, to include -- REGULAR SATURDAY HARINAM! I am so impressed with these devotees. This temple is co-run by two devotees, Grantaraja and Rajahamsa prabhus, who are so low key yet effective that it really is a pleasing atmosphere that they help maintain.

I miss Locanananda prabhu's descriptions of the Harinam in New York. When devotees humbly describe their programs it is so encouraging, and brings sparkles of hope for continuing expansion. Personally I am so looking forward to Vishoka's book about Jayananda, which is due out very soon, and which I feel will attract many to Krsna consciousness. I am going to keep reordering them as they pay for themselves. I hope this finds everyone in the best of health and Krsna consciousness!

2) PARAMAKARUNA DD

Dear devotees, Hare Krsna! Please accept my obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and to your service to him. If I am allowed to, I would humbly suggest that a memorandum of agreement, or some kind of declaration of intents and regulation, is prepared, and whoever subscribes to it can be considered part of the first GBC body, as it usually happens with Societies. Then new members can be added when they request so and accept the declaration of intents and regulations.

[PADA: First of all, this is by far one of the best postings you have made to date. When you write ten pages of material as a reply to a forum it is a little overwhelming for most of us folks. In any case, your suggestion for a "position paper" as above is what many of us have been discussing all along. Yet the formal position paper has taken some time due to some flaps and false starts. For example we had wanted to include as many folks as possible as formal Prabhupadanugas who would all agree to some basic points of agreement, but then various folks like the IRM and others began to try to break up the unity of the Prabhupadanuga effort.

The IRM for example suddenly decided that the Prabhupadanugas were not good folks to work with, and they suddenly said that instead GBC guru Tamal Krishna swami is their new hero and authority, and worse, now that they have again aligned with the GBC they have "defeated pada." Of course if you read the BIF reports you will see that it is the IRM that has been defeated by citing such bogus GBC people as their authorities. For example, the IRM endorsed book "Not That I Have Been Poisoned" is so full of holes it is like swiss cheeze. And then the IRM sent all of their members off packing to take advice and counsel from Tamal's CHAKRA site to read their swiss cheeze book, causing so much confusion they then lost many of their prominent members? Of course the good news is that many people were able to see this and they were saved from their propaganda. Notice, the IRM still advertises Tamal and his bogus book as their authorities even now, despite that book being soundly trounced by pada's readers.

Yet others began to obsess with the Windle Turley case and so on, and they said that fighting this lawsuit was more important that making any unified preaching effort, doing harinama, making any new devotees of Prabhupada, solving the poison issue crisis and so on, nevermind that this group ultimately could not even afford to spend ten dollars a day to care for their cows. And as such, they recently ended up getting charged by the local police with about sixty code violations of the law over their poor cows, as was held up by the US courts, and so on and so forth. And there have been other similar break downs in the forming of the potential formal group by similar upstarts, grandstanding efforts, self-promoting fools and so on. So we wanted to be more careful to see who would be a useful member and who might be simply trying to create another problem.

Thus the more sincere and mature Prabhupadanugas simply wanted to hold back while all this fireworks was going on and sort of wait till their dust settled from these various camps and then try to regroup and get the largest body of persons in agreement possible. We also wanted to use the process of allowing others to participate somewhat in discussing the final accepted position paper and thus we have had to wait for a few more folks to decide on these matters. In other words, a counter movement to the GBC's bogus gurus is already under way, but it needs to have a more unified formal position paper. Agreed. This is a good suggestion and it is something a number of us are considering i.e. the basic position paper of a uniform siddhanta of the "new" ISKCON type society.]

PKD: I also suggest that a different name is chosen (possibly not GBC), so that it cannot be messed up with present ISKCON's GBC and create confusion and misconceptions or any kind of bad feelings.

[PADA: Also good point. We should take steps to insure that the new movement is not confused with the corrupt old one. Yet whether or not a wholesale new title is required or not will be another subject of debate, since some will argue that we have to keep the titles and nomenclatures prescribed by Srila Prabhupada nonetheless.]

PKD: Regarding appointment of ritviks, I think it is the same. If someone if sincerely following Srila Prabhupada and preaching his mission, and inspiring other people to do the same, s/he should go ahead and introduce people to Srila Prabhupada, without the need of rubber stamping or political elections or politburo appointments.

[PADA: Some will no doubt say that there is not any need for a formal structure of any kind since organizations tend to stagnate and corrupt. Yet on the other hand some infrastructure was wanted and desired by Srila Prabhupada. The first problem with "no formal organization" is that there will not be uniform siddhanta and renegades will thus really flourish.]

PKD: In the same way, some guidelines should be laid down about the qualifications required from someone who wants to act as a ritvik, and whoever subscribes to it, should feel free to go out and preach and make new devotees and introduce them to Srila Prabhupada and to the community of Srila Prabhupada's followers. I think this is the simplest and safest solution. I also think it is also the instruction of Sri Mahaprabhu, yare dekho tare kaha krsna upadesa, and Srila Prabhupada's idea, to send out devotees to become TPs by opening new temples and then introducing new devotees to Srila Prabhupada and Krsna. I will also discuss the topic with the other devotees here today and see what they think.

They have DENIED COMPELETELY July 9th 1977 letter order of Srila Prabhupada stating his CLEAR wish that the disciples were to be Srila Prabhupada's. *** This July 9th 1977 letter was NEVER revoked by Srila Prabhupada so THE ORDER REMAINS AS IT IS. *** Their idea of diksa is throw some banana and sesame seeds in the fire and give the idiot some name -- and take away ALL his money -- bas!

[PADA: Yes, and if these bogus gurus can get some "illicit sex with men, women and children" as a side bonus, the GBC guru lineage will also partake of those "guru benefits" as we have seen. By the way it is GBC guru Jayadvaita swami who admits that their gurus are sometimes having this "illicit sex with men, women and (possibly) children as well." They know and admit that this is the standard of their "pure as God" guru lineage which is so evil and degraded it is even rejected by the village idiot in any town in the world.]

* The clear message is FOLLOW Srila Prabhupada---or else be DOOMED! 1) Print ALL Srila Prabhupada's ORIGINAL books and allow devotees to sell as directed by Srila Prabhupada price structure. 71-11-30. Letter: Rupanuga So far the posters for temple altars, if you have got extra money you can print the posters. But I am against the policy of our ISKCON Press charging exorbitant prices for books and other things which they sell to the temples. Our policy should be cost price, or if a little more (10% above cost) is required for other expenses, that may be added. But it is not that we are in business to make profit from each other. With the public, that is a different thing. But our real business is to spread Krishna Consciousness, and for that our centers require so many things like books, tapes, photos, like that -- and these should be freely exchanged between the temples to be utilized nicely in preaching work, without profit - making.

2) Restablish the ritvik system July 9th 1977 order--AS Srila Prabhupada wanted. 77-07-09. All Letter: All G.B.C., All Temple Presidents. In the past Temple Presidents have written to Srila Prabhupada recommending a particular devotee's initiation. Now that Srila Prabhupada has named these representatives, Temple Presidents may henceforward send recommendation for first and second initiation to whichever of these eleven representatives are nearest their temple. After considering the recommendation, these representatives may accept the devotee as an initiated disciple of Srila Prabhupada by giving a spiritual name, or in the case of second initiation, by chanting on the Gayatri thread, just as Srila Prabhupada has done. The newly initiated devotees are disciples of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad, the above eleven senior devotees acting as His representative. After the Temple President receives a letter from these representatives giving the spiritual name or the thread, he can perform the fire yajna in the temple as was being done before. The name of a newly initiated disciple should be sent by the representative who has accepted him or her to Srila Prabhupada, to be included in His Divine Grace's "Initiated Disciples" book.

3)Restablish Direction of Management(1970) as set by Srila Prabhupada. SURE SUCCESS **IF** they follow! But --- NO! they will NOT do this. Why? Because they are duskrtino mudhah.

[PADA: Yes and that is why the FBI says that to solve any crime "follow the money." Or to quote another famous saying, "it is the money stupid."]

* Bhagavad-gita (7.15): na mam duskrtino mudhah/ prapadyante naradhamah/ mayayapahrta-jnana/ asuram bhavam asritah. "Those miscreants who are grossly foolish, lowest among mankind, whose knowledge is stolen by illusion, and who partake of the atheistic nature of demons, do not surrender unto Me."

* These athiestic demons will not surrender to (THE ACARYA) Srila Prabhupada who is Lord Krishna's Representative. And consequently, their destiny is chalked out in the Isopanisad chapter 12: Isopanisad 12 The Lord states that as soon as one reaches Him by devotional service -- which is the one and only way to approach the Personality of Godhead -- one attains complete freedom from the bondage of birth and death. In other words, the path of salvation from the material clutches fully depends on the principles of knowledge and detachment gained from serving the Lord. The pseudo religionists have neither knowledge nor detachment from material affairs, for most of them want to live in the golden shackles of material bondage under the shadow of philanthropic activities disguised as religious principles.

BY A FALSE DISPLAY OF RELIGIOUS SENTIMENTS, THEY PRESENT A SHOW OF DEVOTIONAL SERVICE WHILE INDULGING IN ALL SORTS OF IMMORAL ACTIVITIES. IN THIS WAY THEY PASS AS SPIRITUAL MASTERS AND DEVOTEES OF GOD. SUCH VIOLATORS OF RELIGIOUS PRINCIPLES HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THE AUTHORITATIVE ACARYAS, THE HOLY TEACHERS IN THE STRICT DISCIPLIC SUCCESSION. THEY IGNORE THE VEDIC INJUNCTION ACARYOPASANA -- "ONE MUST WORSHIP THE ACARYA" -- and Krsna's statement in the Bhagavad-gita (4.2) evam parampara-praptam, "This supreme science of God is received through the disciplic succession."

INSTEAD, TO MISLEAD THE PEOPLE IN GENERAL THEY THEMSELVES BECOME SO-CALLED ACARYAS, BUT THEY DO NOT EVEN FOLLOW THE PRINCIPLES OF THE ACARYAS. These rogues are the MOST DANGEROUS ELEMENTS in human society. Because there is no religious government, they escape punishment by the law of the state. THEY CANNOT, HOWEVER, ESCAPE THE LAW OF THE SUPREME, WHO HAS CLEARLY DECLARED IN THE BHAGAVAD-GITA THAT ENVIOUS DEMONS IN THE GARB OF RELIGIOUS PROPAGANDISTS SHALL BE THROWN INTO THE DARKEST REGIONS OF HELL (BG. 16.19-20). SRI ISOPANISAD CONFIRMS THAT THESE PSEUDO RELIGIONISTS ARE HEADING TOWARD THE MOST OBNOXIOUS PLACE IN THE UNIVERSE AFTER THE COMPLETION OF THEIR SPIRITUAL MASTER BUSINESS, WHICH THEY CONDUCT SIMPLY FOR SENSE GRATIFICATION.
